Is Cashybara Athletics Edition the Cutest Crash Game Ever?
Capybaras look like the kind of animal that accidentally wandered into existence after evolution gave up trying. Every other animal in the jungle is fighting for survival, while the capybara is out there acting like a retired divorce dad who discovered meditation and craft beer.
The almost comical nature of a Capybara makes it a perfect choice when you’re putting together one of the strangest series of cash games ever created. Amusnet has released Cashbara Ski Edition, Golf Edition, Football Edition, Boxing Edition, and now, Athletics Edition.
On your marks
With an insane 125,000x max multiplier, there is a real chance to turn the minimum bet of just $0.10 a round into some serious cash when playing Cashybara Athletics Edition. That said, trying to hang on until that multiplier climbs that high would probably require balls so big they’d need their own Olympic qualifying event.
The slot offers betting up to $100 per round, which can increase your winnings on smaller multipliers. If you’re chasing those bigger multipliers while betting big, it’s important to know that the maximum winning potential of the slot is $12,500, which means winnings are capped at 125x when playing at the maximum $100 bet.
Each round begins with a capybara in a full athletic kit lining up on a running track. Once the starting gun fires, the multiplier starts from 1.00x and continues to increase. You need to cash out before the capybara trips and your round ends.
The game gives you three cashout options. The manual Cashout button lets you exit the round at the multiplier shown when you press it. Auto Cashout allows you to set a target multiplier in advance. If the multiplier reaches that value, the game will automatically cash you out. Finally, the Cashout 50% option lets you remove half of your bet at the current multiplier while leaving the remaining half active in the round.
Other than the base game, the only bonus feature the slot offers is Jackpot Cards. This feature is randomly triggered after any round has finished and all winnings have been collected. Once triggered, a field of 12 face-down cards appears. You select cards until three matching suit symbols are revealed.
The Club symbol is the lowest level, followed by the Diamond, Heart, and Spade symbols. The progressive jackpot linked to the matching suit is awarded at the value it has reached when the third matching card is turned over.
Is Cashybara Athletics Edition worth a few races?
What’s not to like about a capybara running a hurdle race? It certainly brings a fun element to the adrenaline of a crash game. The progressive jackpot feature feels like a strange addition, since I usually treat crash games as a quick distraction rather than the focus of a longer session. A feature seemingly designed to keep me playing, then, feels a little out of place. Capping winnings at $12,500 is also an interesting choice. All in all, I give the Cashybara Athletics Edition game a seven out of ten.
