Somebody, somewhere, is shaking…
“Unbelievable, is that me?? I’m shaking now!”
That’s uran****, the Australian player behind ticket 8545845, and the new owner of a Tesla Model Y from our Tesla Live Raffle on 22 October. They weren’t watching when their number came up. It was breakfast time Down Under, so honestly, fair. Turns out you can miss the biggest moment of your year and still wake up with a car.
Olle didn’t stop at the Tesla, either. Four extra prizes went out before the grand finale, and Nick’s budget may never recover. Here’s how it all went down.
Google Picks, the Database Decides
Quick refresher for the first-timers, and there were plenty of you in chat. Olle pulls a random number between 0 and 9,999,999 using Google’s random number generator, live on screen. Then he switches over to our ticket database and plugs it in.
If someone collected that ticket, the database coughs up their username with “WINNING TICKET” next to it, plus the unlucky neighbors who missed by a digit or two. If nobody owns it, the screen says so and Olle hits Generate again.
Simple. Also, occasionally, very slow.
Four Warm-Up Acts and One Very Patient Host
Olle opened by announcing that just giving away a Tesla felt “a little bit boring,” so he’d be handing out some of Nick’s money too. Brave.
First up, 1,000 Free Spins went to Luck**** on ticket 9857562. One draw, no drama.
The $1,000 cash prize was another story. Four numbers in a row came back uncollected while chat ran an over/under on how long this would take, until ticket 5003798 finally landed for dm12**** on draw five.
Then things escalated. Jenn**** grabbed $2,500 plus VIP status on ticket 5501125, and since Olle figured he was “already in trouble,” he bumped the next prize to $10,000 plus VIP. One empty draw later, ticket 8034958 handed it to fore****. Somewhere in chat, someone typed “STOPPPP I HAD THE LAST NUMBER.” Ouch.
One Draw, One Car
After all that redrawing, you’d expect the Tesla to take forever. Nope.
Olle hit Generate, got 8545845, ran it through the database and there it was on the very first try. WINNING TICKET, uran****. He spent a good minute begging them to be in chat. They weren’t, but the news reached them soon after, and judging by that reaction, it landed just fine.
Congrats, and Catch the Replay
Huge congrats to uran**** and our four other winners. If you’re one of them, check your notifications for a message from our team.
And thanks to everyone who showed up, said hi and shared their ticket counts in chat. Olle’s still employed, as far as we know. See you at the next one!
PS. Missed the stream? The full replay is up on the Tesla Live Raffle page, so you can watch Olle sweat through that $1,000 draw for yourself. Oh, and we’re also popping it over here for you!
