If anything sums up gambling and games of chance, it’s dice. This simple game has been around longer than most, and it’s ingrained itself in popular culture like few others.
Just think of all the expressions we have in the English language that center on it: play dice, shake the dice, roll the dice, that’s dicey, the dice are loaded, or no dice – the list is pretty extensive.
There are also tons of variations on the ol’ squares with numbers. You get perfect dice – with a tolerance of 0.0001 inch – and imperfect dice, poker dice, anchor dice, some with up to 20 sides… that shows its popularity.
So how is Dice, a BitStarz Original game, different from the rest? You’re about to find out.
The action takes place on this slider that you’ll see dominating the screen. You can adjust the multiplier by increasing or decreasing the amount in the box below, or by dragging the blue thing on the slider.
Before you start playing, you’ll need to decide if you reckon the dice result will Roll Under or Over – you’ll see the Roll Under highlighted in green, while the other one will be in red. Don’t let the colors fool you; they’re just there to differentiate. It doesn’t mean green is good and red is bad.
Does that all make sense? If not, let me put it this way. If I adjust the slider to the far left, I’ll be looking at a multiplier of 49 x, a Roll Under of 2, and a Win Chance of 2%.
So, I’m bargaining that the next roll of the dice will come in at less than 2 out of 100 (you’ll see a hint of green on the slider) and if that happens, I’ll nail the 49 x multiplier but my chances of getting that right are only 2%.
If I flick the icon in the Roll Under bar, then the bet becomes a Roll Over. Now I’ve got a 2% chance of the next dice roll coming in at more than 98.
Yeah, it’s straightforward once you get the hang of it. And after all, simplicity is what BitStarz Original games are all about. Almost zero load time, sizzling performance, and instant entertainment at your fingertips are the aim of the game.
If hitting the BET button is messing with your manicure, you can always set the game to AutoPlay mode. Just set your parameters and let the software do the rest.
Oh, and this one’s also provably fair. Now ain’t that a treat!
These games aren’t about features or crazy graphics so there’s nothing of that sort to be mentioned here.
As you can expect from a game that’s optimized for speed and instant entertainment, you won’t experience any problems with this one.
The max win for Dice is €100,000
While Dice from BitStarz Originals might look strange initially – as it’s stripped of all the graphics and visual cues we’re used to – it’s not that much different from Rocket Dice for example. It just doesn’t have the Risk feature, but you’re still betting on hitting a number that’s higher or lower than another that you’ve set.
I’ve said elsewhere that I like my games with more features, and I’m also a big proponent of fine graphics, but I’m eating my words once again. Why, oh why do I like this game as I do? Objectively I shouldn’t but the fun factor overrides everything else.
Maybe it also has to do with the fact that I have a say in the outcome. And while it’s not a lot, it still makes me feel like I can control my fate a bit.
I know that can be said of dice games in general, rather than this one in particular, but that aspect in combination with its bare-bones simplicity makes it weirdly cool.
I’m starting to worry about myself but see for yourself. I’ll be surprised if you don’t find something appealing about it.
