Three months, three Thunder Step slot releases. Jacks brought the original to Cashy in August, followed up with Thunder Step 2 slot in September, and both have stayed among the titles players keep coming back to. October brings the third entry, and the studio has chosen to push the formula harder rather than rebuild it.
Thunder Step 2 Extreme slot keeps the series’ stripped-back classic look, with sevens, bells, bars, and fruit on a compact grid, and builds nearly everything around one reel. It runs on 3 reels and 4 rows with 8 fixed win lines, a 95.99% RTP, and high volatility. Bets range from $0.20 to $168.30, and the top multiplier reaches 32,416x, with the max win capped at $420,791.
A Small Grid With a Busy Middle Reel
Line wins pay left to right and are listed as multiples of your total bet. The crown Wild pays the most at 50x for three, can land stacked, and substitutes for everything except the Coin Scatter and Collector Scatter. Double 7s lead the regular symbols at 30x, followed by Bells at 10x and Bars and Grapes at 8x. Plums, Oranges, and Lemons sit at the bottom with 2x each.
That line game is modest by design. Most of the action happens on reel 2, the only place the Collector Scatter can appear. Once it lands, it turns sticky and drops one position with every spin until it slides off the reels. While it’s in view, it picks up the value of every Coin Scatter on screen, and coins show anywhere from 1x to 15x.
There’s also a Multiplier Collector marked x2, which collects every coin value twice. Collectors can arrive stacked in the base game, with up to four in view at once, though they never count toward line wins or act as Wilds.
Where Hold & Spin Takes Over
The bonus round triggers when at least one coin lands on reels 1 and 3 and a Collector lands on reel 2. A mystery trigger tied to coin overflow can also start it, placing any missing coins or Collectors at random. The pile of coins stacked above the reels is decoration only and doesn’t track how close you are to a trigger.
You start with three respins, and the counter resets to three every time a new coin or Collector lands. Only coins, jackpot coins, and Collectors appear during the round, and each position spins on its own. Collectors stay locked in place, and every coin landing on reels 1 or 3 gets collected separately by each Collector on the middle reel. With four Collectors in view, a single coin pays out four times over, more if any of them carry the x2. If the round starts without a Collector showing, the game places one on reel 2 for you.
Four fixed jackpot coins can show up in both the base game and the bonus: the Mini Jackpot at 25x, Minor Jackpot at 50x, Major Jackpot at 150x, and Grand Jackpot at 2,000x. Several can land in one spin, but they only pay when a Collector is in view.
Three Shortcuts to the Coins
Coins Hunt costs 8x your base bet on top of the base bet itself. With it switched on, every regular symbol is cleared off the reels, leaving only coins and Collectors, and win lines stop paying. Landing at least one coin on each reel triggers Hold & Spin.
If you’d rather go straight in, the Bonus Buy starts Hold & Spin for 55x your bet, and it plays out exactly like a natural trigger. The Super Bonus Buy costs 300x and guarantees four Collectors on the middle reel from the first respin, which is the setup the whole game is built around.
Built for the Bonus
Most classic Hold & Win slots keep their ceilings fairly contained, since fixed coin values and capped jackpots only stretch so far. Stacking up to four Collectors on one reel, each collecting every coin, changes that math considerably. The original Thunder Step slot topped out at 12,800x, and this version more than doubles it. That puts this release firmly at the high-volatility end of the genre. With line wins topping out at 50x, nearly all of the game’s upside sits inside the bonus round, and how often you see four Collectors together decides how a session plays out.
Back for Round Three
Thunder Step 2 Extreme slot follows the same simple setup as the two before it while pushing the Collector mechanic further than either. It’s live now at Cashy alongside the rest of the slots catalog.
