Double entendres are what happens when language gets bored of behaving itself. One meaning walks through the front door in a suit and tie, while the other sneaks in through the bathroom window carrying handcuffs and a bad decision. The trick is to keep a straight face while everyone else realizes exactly what you just did.

With soccer fever in full swing, it’s no wonder that a few game developers have balls on the brain. Blueprint, however, seems to have taken things a little too far with its new, gloriously named Kong Even Bigger Balls slot.

Let’s get those balls

The Kong Even Bigger Balls slot offers 4,096 ways to win across six reels. Betting starts from $0.10 a spin and tops out at $10 per spin. Betting at the $10 maximum gives you a chance to win up to $175,000 thanks to the slot’s 17,500x maximum multiplier.

With medium volatility, the slot should deliver a balance of smaller, more frequent wins and less common larger payouts. The expected RTP is 94%.

The Cash Prize symbols are represented by soccer balls and display cash values. When one or more Cash Prize symbols appear on the same spin as a Kong Collect symbol, the Kong Collect symbol expands to fill its entire reel and awards the sum of all visible Cash Prize values.

In addition to collecting these values, every Kong Collect symbol that appears moves you one space along the Unlock Trail. The following features become available as you progress:

• Level 2, Win Streak Kong: Cash Prize symbols remain in place while the other positions respin. The respins continue until no additional prizes appear.
• Level 5, Win Stepper Kong: The Cash Prize symbols that initiated the feature move upwards or downwards until they fill their respective reels.
• Level 8, Win Blast Kong: All visible Cash Prize values are collected before the symbols are removed and replaced through a cascade. This process can repeat up to four times.
• Level 12, Scoring Wheel: The wheel can award 20x, 50x, 200x, or 2,500x your bet, as well as a mystery prize.
• Level 16, Goal Blitz: Unlocks the Goal Blitz feature.
• Level 20, Even Bigger Balls Bonus: Unlocks the top-level bonus feature.

Landing three or more Bonus symbols awards 10 Bonus Spins. Four Bonus symbols also award 20x your bet, five award 100x your bet, and six award 500x your bet.

During the bonus round, landing Kong Collect symbols advances the Kong Bonus Spins feature. Three Collect symbols award five additional spins and a 2x multiplier. Six Collect symbols award five additional spins and a 3x multiplier, nine award five additional spins and a 5x multiplier, and 12 award five additional spins and a 10x multiplier.

Once you have unlocked the Even Bigger Balls Bonus through the trail, landing at least three Bonus symbols triggers the feature. You begin with 10 spins and can select up to five Mystery Prizes before the round starts.

The available Mystery Prize upgrades include:

Goal Blitz can activate randomly after a non-winning spin and is indicated by the animated Goal Blitz Pot. When triggered, you can choose from five instant modifiers:

• Bonus Boost: Adds guaranteed Bonus symbols.
• Win Spin: Guarantees a paying result.
• Ball Rush: Transforms reel positions into higher-value symbols.
• Super Collect: Immediately collects all visible Cash Prize values.
• Kong Strike: Guarantees that a Kong Collect symbol will land.

Playing the Kong Even Bigger Balls slot will require you to trigger all bonus features the old-fashioned way, with the slot offering no bonus buy options.

Does the Kong Even Bigger Balls slot live up to its name?

Blueprint’s Kong series is one the provider has revisited again and again. Its main character looks suspiciously like Donkey Kong after wandering off a Nintendo screen and making several questionable career choices. 

While the Kong Even Bigger Balls slot offers some fun, if slightly chaotic, graphics, there is so little variety compared to previous entries in the series that it is becoming difficult to see the point. Despite having some fun with Kong Even Bigger Balls, I’m not sure there is enough here for me to recommend it.
