Pyrofox Slot: Gotta Catch Those Wins
Pokémon is basically animal hoarding with a side of cockfighting, but make it adorable. You wander the world as a ten-year-old with no adult supervision, cramming fire-breathing dragons and sentient piles of sludge into tiny balls like it’s totally normal. And somehow, no one questions that the local economy is entirely based on letting electric rats electrocute each other in sanctioned battles for gym badges and street cred. It’s a weird concept.
Now, I’m not saying there is a connection between Pokémon and the recently released Pyrofox slot from Backseat Gaming, but it sure does look like the latter drew inspiration from the former.
A forest animal capable of burning down the forest
The Pyrofox slot features 14 fixed paylines across a five-reel layout. Betting starts at just $0.10, with a maximum limit of $20. If you’re betting at the upper limit, you could win up to $300,000, thanks to the 15,000x maximum multiplier. The slot has high volatility, meaning wins can be rare but potentially substantial. The RTP ranges between 96.24% and 96.31%.
When a Pyro character symbol lands and forms part of a winning combination, it transforms into a fully stacked wild. Only one Pyro symbol can appear per reel, and these symbols do not feature in the Blaze of Glory round.
Before either bonus round begins, you will get a chance to gamble your 10 free spins for a chance at more spins. The wheel can award up to 25 total free spins. However, it’s an all-or-nothing type of scenario, so you may end up leaving with nothing.
A round of Blaze of Glory free spins is activated by landing three Full Moon scatter symbols or via the Buy Bonus feature. During a round of this free spins feature, all wild symbols become sticky, locking in place until the feature ends. The global multiplier continues to increase on every spin, and landing 1, 2, or 3 Full Moon scatters during the round will add additional spins to your total.
Flame Fox’s Frenzy free spins are triggered by landing three Fire Tree scatters in the base game or via the Buy Bonus feature. During a round of this free spins feature, you’ll have a higher probability of landing wild and Pyro symbols. Like in a round of Blaze of Glory spins, the global multiplier is active and will increase with each spin.
In addition to being able to purchase either of the two free spins features directly, the slot also offers a Bonus Hunt feature, which increases the chance of triggering one of the two free spins features.
Is the Pyrofox slot worth the fire hazard?
As with all Backseat Gaming releases, the graphics, animation, and sound design are absolutely on point, beautifully bringing the slot to life. The slot also offers an impressive 15,000x max multiplier, which is definitely a major draw. The bonus features are a little generic, which is somewhat disappointing considering how much could have been done with the fire theme. That being said, the abundance of bonus features ensures the gameplay remains exciting. All in all, I give the Pyrofox slot a seven out of ten.
If you’re looking for a few other good-looking Backseat Gaming slots, I recommend trying out Crystal Robot and Infernus.
