The Monkey Frenzy Slot Features No Monkeys?

Monkeys have tails, apes don’t, and gorillas are just apes that skipped leg day and started a gym cult. Basically, if it’s flinging poo with a smug look and a tail, it’s a monkey. If it’s doing the same thing without a tail and judging your life choices, it’s an ape. And if it looks like it could rip your arms off for looking at it funny, congrats, you’ve found a gorilla.

Why the zoology lesson? Because I’m fairly certain the developers at Trusty Gaming might have missed that class when they put together their Monkey Frenzy slot.

Welcome to the jungle?

The Monkey Frenzy slot from Trusty Gaming features a 17-payline layout spread across a standard reel setup. Betting starts at just $0.10, with a maximum limit of $50. If you’re betting at the upper limit, you could win up to $250,000, thanks to the 5,000x maximum multiplier. The slot has medium volatility, which balances the frequency and size of wins. The RTP is 96.21%.

The slot includes little in the way of bonus features but does offer a free spins round that is triggered when 3 or more Banana scatter symbols land in a single spin. Hitting 3, 4, or 5 Banana scatters will award 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively, along with an instant payout of 1x, 3x, or 10x the bet.

During free spins, any Big Boss Wilds that form part of a winning combination will expand to cover the entire reel. You can also retrigger the feature by landing 3 or more Banana scatters again during the bonus, which adds an additional 5 free spins.

The Monkey Frenzy slot is no documentary

Launched in 2024, Trusty Gaming hasn’t been around long. Thanks to its partnership with Hacksaw Gaming’s OpenRGS platform, it has come a surprisingly long way in a short amount of time, cranking out some decent-looking slots. That said, the studio hasn’t exactly blown my socks off. It is still a far cry from its much more polished mentor, Hacksaw.

I’d love to say Monkey Frenzy is the game that put Trusty on the map, but it’s not. Maybe it’s just me, but despite the name, I couldn’t find a single actual monkey in this game. There is an ape, a gorilla, maybe a chimp, but no monkeys. And yes, for some reason, that really bothers me. All in all, I give the Monkey Frenzy slot a solid six out of ten.

If you’re looking for a few other Trusty slots to try out, you can take a look at Lucky Multifruit and Sticky Candyland.
