Coinfest Slot Review
Ask an event planner, and they’ll tell you: throwing a great party is not the easiest thing in the world to pull off. Some festivities have been so good, though, that they’ve been on repeat for centuries.
That’s right; the Oktoberfest kicked off as a celebration of Prince Ludwig of Saxe-Hildburghausen’s marriage in 1810, and it just never ended! The event has been running for 212 years, with only 24 cancellations marring its boozy history.
And it’s this effervescent and high-spirited festival that Platipus Gaming has chosen for their latest offering, Coinfest slot. Prost!
Bratwurst, beer, and blonde babes with cups that overflow – that sounds like heaven to me. Platipus has created a lively environment with vibey visuals and festive Oompa music, as you’d expect for a game based on the world-renowned Oktoberfest.
Things look really good on a phone’s screen, too. In portrait mode, you’ll see a lot of the background above and below the 5-reel grid, but the symbols are easy to discern. Landscape mode mirrors what you’ll see on a laptop or desktop, so that would be my preferred way to play.
If you thought this Hold & Win game was all party and no substance, think again. There are up to 46,656 ways to win, and despite having a medium volatility rate, this game offers a mega max win worth €389,900!
The downside – there usually is one, right? – is the RTP. It’s below industry standard, at 95%, but at least all currencies are available, so you can play with either fiat or crypto.
Let’s get into the features by warming up with the Wild. This is our lederhosen-wearing, mustachioed beer aficionado, and he replaces all symbols other than the Scatter and Bonus ones. Oh, and Wilds only appear on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5.
The beer keg Scatter can land on any of the reels, and 3 or more of these bad boys kick off the Free Spins feature. Scatters pay out no matter where they land:
3 Scatters = 1x your total bet
4 Scatters = 10x your total bet
5 Scatters = 50x your total bet
You’ll find bronze, silver, and gold Bonus symbols and a +1 one on Coinfest slot. Bronze Bonuses appear at any time, while silver and gold ones appear only during the Re-spin feature. Speaking of which, you’ll need 6 or more bronze Bonus symbols to trigger the Re-spins round.
Land 3 or more Scatters, and you’ll be awarded 8 Free Spins. You can snatch up an additional 8 spins by landing 3 extra Scatters.
Six or more bronze Bonus symbols award you 6 re-spins during this feature. It’s your run-of-the-mill Hold & Win scenario here, so all landed coins stay where they are while the open positions spin.
Each coin has a value, and these will be accumulated and awarded at the end of the feature.
If you’re impatient like me, then this is the feature you’ll wanna make use of. For a set fee (50x your current bet for Free Spins and 40x for Re-spins), you can buy your way into the game’s main money-making features.
During testing, I found that Re-spins came in fairly frequently, but Free Spins were a lot scarcer, so the Buy Bonus did come in handy for the latter.
Ze Germans would be proud of how seamlessly Coinfest slot ran across all my devices and browsers. I tested this game thoroughly, so I’m confident in saying that you shouldn’t encounter any issues either.
The €389,900 max win was the biggest surprise this game yielded. For a medium-volatility-rated game, that’s just superbly generous. Thanks, Platipus!
Of course, if you want all that money, you’ll need to bet at the max (€70) and land the 5,570x
Multiplier. Start betting at €0.25 or anything in between if you're looking for a chilled session.
There’s a lot to like about this game. While I wouldn’t have sought out a Beerfest-themed slot, this one kept delivering in ways I didn’t expect.
First off, there’s that max win I’ve been rabbiting on about. Next is the fact that I was pulling in Re-spins at a rate of knots, which proved to be super effective at landing generous wins.
I can’t say I felt the effects of the sub-par RTP while I was playing – I hope this is also how it works out for you, too.
Lastly, the game looks pretty sweet on a mobile device. All told, this is a well-rounded game with a lot going for it. I reckon it’s definitely worth trying!
