Football X Review

Damn you, FIFA World Cup. You’re the reason my life has become a series of reviews about bloody soccer, or football, or whatever the hell you wanna call it.

And let’s face it; soccer players are a bunch of Alice band-wearing wanna-be actors who decided to play with balls for a living.

Now before you start sending me hate mail, let’s chill for a second. I’m just taking the piss, as the Brits like to say, and it was either I go with something funny (in my head, at least) for this intro, or a history lesson. And I think we can all agree that no one wants the latter.

This is Football X by Smartsoft Gaming.

Gameplay

There are Crash games and then some, and Football X is like nothing I’ve seen before. I’m utterly infatuated with it, and you’ll see why once you fire it up.

For starters, it’s not immediately apparent what the game is. The background is this wonderful hue of green, and you’ll see a football player in the middle of the screen.

You can clearly scroll through some options (there are 5 players to choose from), and I went for the one that looks like Alfred E. Neuman of MAD Magazine fame.

Now, some of you might not be familiar with the character or the publication, and that’s to be expected, considering it started in 1956 and shut down in 2018. Anyhoo.

Underneath our hero is a toggle that you can use to increase or decrease your bet. Beneath that is the PLAY button.

There’s an Autoplay feature to the left of the screen, where you can customize a bunch of parameters (such as “spins”, auto collect, and so on).

To the right (beneath the soccer ball and the design element that looks like a slider), you’ll find your latest wins and those of other players. There are 30 results, which is plenty to base your strategy on.

On that subject, let’s discuss how a Crash game works, in case this is your first time (and if you liked this one, then you should give BitStarz Original Crash a try, too). The objective is to accumulate as big of a multiplier as possible, and then bail out before the game crashes.

In Football X’s case, it looks like this. Hit the PLAY button and your hero gets a ball. He then starts playing keepie uppie (oh, football terminology, you make me moist). You’ll need to hit COLLECT before your dude runs out of talent. And then the cycle repeats itself.

That’s all there is to it. It’s a simple concept but strangely intoxicating. The RTPs of Crash games are usually pretty good, and Football X’s 96% is right on the money.

Features

Crash games don’t usually offer features and this game’s no different. Move on; there’s nothing to see here.

Performance

Look, it doesn’t get much simpler than this, so I’d have been surprised if Football X threw up glitches during testing. It absolutely didn’t though and worked perfectly on all my devices and browsers.

Maximum Win

The top multiplier in Football X is 100x, and the max bet is €100 (the lowest is €0.10). That means your max win comes in at €10,000.

It ain’t gonna buy you a football club, but if you don’t want it, I’ll happily take the ten grand off your hands.

Conclusion

I’m partial to a Crash game at the best of times, and I love what SmartSoft Gaming has done with this one.

Rather than using the same old XY axis concept, they’ve reimagined the game and made it dovetail with the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Dudes, I applaud you.

However, money talks and bullsh*t walks and all that. So, if the max win’s not enough for you, then head over to BitStarz Originals Crash – there, the big prize is €100,000!
