Luck & Magic Scratch Review
Of all the people in bands that I listen to, I think I like the name Rat Scabies the best. He’s a drummer 🥁 who played with The Damned, and he got that name because, well, he had scabies, and, by his own admission, he looked like a rat. 🐀
I decided to go on his website to see what the old geezer was up to after his career with one of the OG punk bands, but I kinda wish I hadn’t. The website proudly proclaimed:
“Recently Rat has been spending his time making guitars from old cigar boxes” which I do hope is a joke, but “Cigar Box Maker” is emblazoned across the masthead of his website as well. 🎸
Wow, that’s depressing.
Let’s quickly move on to other things that need scratching, shall we? This is Luck & Magic Scratch from BGAMING.
Gameplay
It’s been a minute since I played a Scratch game, and boy howdy but this one looks incredible! You’ll be offered a choice between 3 stunningly rendered playing cards, all with a Lord of the Rings kinda theme, and you can swap between these so you’re not stuck with one choice.
Each card comes with a specific price and offers varying prizes that you’ll be awarded once you scratch the surface and reveal 3 matching symbols.
Hit the BUY button, and the other 2 cards will fade away. You’ll see the 9 cells on your card, and your pointer transforms into a coin that you can use to scratch the surface.
The cards are also animated. For example, if you don’t manage to win anything, the Amazonian babe closes her eyes and shakes her head in sorrowful disappointment, just like my ex during sexy time.
Land a win and the value of the 3 matching symbols is applied to your bet.
There are no paylines here, of course, and the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. is 90%, while the volatility rate is medium. But check it out: the max multiplier is 10,000x and you can score a win worth $100,000. Nice!
Features
There aren’t any features in Luck & Magic Scratch, so I’ll talk about the Autoplay element instead.
Hit that “A” button and you’ll see a pop-up with the following: Loss Limit, Win Limit, Turbo Mode, and Start Autoplay (number of rounds).
Customize these to your liking, and the game will take care of the tedium of having to manually scratch things and place bets. Manual labor is for peasants, after all.
Performance
Hundreds of rounds, or maybe even a thousand or two, is how far down the rabbit hole I went with Luck & Magic Scratch. In all that time, there were zero instances where the game didn’t perform flawlessly.
Maximum Win
Match the max bet of $10 with the 10,000x max multiplier for a payday worth $100,000! Or simply bet from as little as $0.30.
Conclusion
At the time of writing, I counted 23 Scratch games on BitStarz. Most of them only give you 1 card to work with, versus the 3 you can choose between in Luck & Magic Scratch.
Now that may not sound like a selling point, but combine that with variable multipliers that you’ll uncover and it gives BGaming’s latest a bit more spice than some of the competition.
The Scratch Alpaca series from BGaming has a similar feel and also uses that pointer-turned-coin thing.
The series features a Bronze, Silver, and Gold version. The Silver one offers the same potential payout as the current game, while Scratch Alpaca Gold takes the winnings up to $250,000.
So, there you go – you’re spoilt for choice if you’re into these types of games.

Volatility RateSlot games can have low, medium, high, or extremely high volatility rates (or a combination thereof).
The less volatile the game, the more often it should pay out, but the lower the amount, the less the payout, as this is in keeping with the risk you’re taking. Volatility rate should be considered in conjunction with a game’s RTP.: Medium
