Golden Adventures Await in Ancient Temple Gems Slot
Have you heard that Indiana Jones 5 is coming out next year? At 80 years old (yes, he’s really 80), Harrison Ford is returning to a character he first introduced to the world in 1981, a character that had me and my friends begging our mothers for a fedora and whip.
Unfortunately, the newest slot from Belatra doesn’t feature the whip-wielding Indy. Just imagine the royalties they’d have to pay! Instead, they’re subbing in an Indy look-alike with a dad bod for the Ancient Temple Gems slot adventure.
Are there riches waiting to be discovered?
The main party piece of Ancient Temple Gems slot is its unique tumbling wins feature. The reels begin with just nine tiles open giving the slot 12 ways to win. With each consecutive win, you’ll unlock additional spaces of the 5×5 slot until you hit the maximum 3,125 ways to win.
If your consecutive wins get interrupted by a non-winning spin, the slot will return to its nine-tile format for the process to begin again. If you manage to unlock the whole 5×5 grid, you’ll trigger a round of the slot’s free spins bonus game.
Once the free spins feature is triggered, an extra 1×3 reel is added just to the left of the main reels, with any symbol landing in the middle of the extra reels being activated. The extra set of reels also has its own unique symbols. The bamboo X symbol will give you nothing, the gem symbols between 1 and 5 extra free spins, and the circle symbols will multiply any winnings on that particular spin by between 2x and 100x.
You can unlock a maximum of 100 spins. Once all your spins have been depleted, you’ll be returned to the base game.
Is Ancient Temple Gems slot worth a try?
In a lot of ways, Ancient Temple Gems slot is a solid little slot. It’s got a fun theme, interesting gameplay, and an exciting bonus feature with a twist that I don’t think I’ve seen before, not executed like that at least. The solid graphics complete the picture and the €250,000 max win gives you something to aim for.
This, inevitably, brings us to the slot’s stats. The high volatility isn’t anything unique, but it does mean that you’ll be waiting around longer than you’d like between wins. This, however, could easily be rectified by a healthy RTP rating.
Well, you won’t find it in Ancient Temple Gems slot which offers a rather disappointing RTP of 91.17%. And if I’m going to be chasing a jackpot with those numbers working against me, it really does need to be for a max win larger than €250,000. This is especially true when the slot’s asking for a €50 a spin bet to play for the big win. All in all, the slot seems like it had a lot of potential that just wasn’t delivered on.
If you’re looking for a few slots from Belatra that I do recommend, give Catch & Snatch and Lazy Monkey a try. Catch & Snatch in particular may be the game provider’s best slot to date. The theme is beautifully executed and with a healthy 96.12% RTP rating balancing that high volatility, I don’t feel like I have to work quite as hard to enjoy it.
