I’ve written about a lot of Irish-themed games in my time. Eventually, they kind of all start blending together – which is either because I struggle to differentiate between redheads or because these games all kinda look the same.
But I’ve yet to encounter a slot about a leprechaun called Barry. There are so many quintessential Irish names, and yet Mancala decided to go with Barry the Leprechaun slot.
It’s a little odd, no? Or am I just nitpicking?
Anyway, let’s get into it.
Gameplay
Barry the Leprechaun slot is a 5-reel, 20-payline game from Mancala. There are the usual Irish-themed symbols on the reels, including pots of gold, four-leaf clovers, Barry’s pipe, and royal values (not technically Irish themed, but they’ve got some Celtic script inscribed on them so I’ll let it slide).
This slot looks great in landscape mode on a mobile device, which means you can take it on the go. I tried it on portrait too, but the reels get a little cramped so you’re probably better off using a desktop device or playing in landscape mode on your phone – an easy fix!
Unfortunately, Barry the Leprechaun slot has a low-ish RTP of 95%. However, the maximum win of €291,300 is pleasantly surprising considering that the game has a medium volatility rate (which usually comes with more moderate payouts).

During the base game, three treasure boxes can randomly appear on screen. Pick one of them to score a mystery reward – yep, as simple as that.
FREE SPINS
Landing 3, 4, or 5 satchel Scatter symbols will trigger the Free Spins round. Depending on how many Scatters you land, you’ll win 7, 10, or 12 spins with multipliers ranging from 2x, 3x, to 4x.
SCATTER RE-SPINS
If you collect 2 Scatters on a single spin, you’ll activate the Scatter re-spin feature. During this round, all reels not containing Scatters will re-spin once.
If more Scatters land, then the re-spins will continue (until no Scatters remain).
STICKY WILDS
The Wild symbol is sticky during the Free Spins round. If it lands during the feature, it’ll stick on its reel while the rest of the symbols spin around it.
Performance
After testing Barry the Leprechaun slot, I can confidently say that I experienced no buffering or glitching issues. So, spin away on the device and browser of your choice, my little friend.
Maximum Win
Considering the volatility rate, €291,300 is a very respectable maximum win. To trigger it, you’ll need to set your bet to the €100 maximum and land the top multiplier of 2,913x your bet – good luck!
Conclusion
Barry the Leprechaun slot didn’t blow me away, but it is decent. That maximum win is great, and the game is pretty nice looking, but the features are quite sparse.
With that said, I wasn’t really expecting anything groundbreaking. The theme is a little tired, so game studios typically leave these slots on the simpler side of things.
Still, if you’re searching for something with solid wins and chilled gameplay, Barry could be your guy.
