Perhaps out of sympathy for the plight of the common soldier, Clutch Gaming has removed most of the actual soldiers from its new army-themed Rocket Recon slot.

The Rocket Recon slot features 15 paylines across five reels and three rows. You’ll need to be betting $35 per spin to get anywhere near the $350,000 max payout, but even the $0.10 minimum stake can produce some serious wins thanks to the 10,000x max multiplier.
With medium to high volatility, Rocket Recon can be a little unforgiving between hits, but the trade-off is the potential for much bigger payouts when its features line up. The slot’s expected RTP is 96.01%.
A Rocket Wild Reel can land on any reel, expanding to cover it completely and acting as a wild symbol. Between 1 and 6 rockets will then be launched, adding to the Global Multiplier. In the base game, the multiplier starts at 1x and resets after each spin.
Landing at least three or more scatter symbols will award 10 free spins, with the number of symbols determining which version of the three rounds of free spins is triggered.
Three scatter symbols will trigger a round of Tactical Strike free spins. With this round, Rocket Wild Reels appear more frequently. Just like the base game, the global multiplier still resets to 1x after each spin.
With four scatter symbols, you will trigger a round of Code Red free spins. With this round, Rocket Wild Reels still appear more frequently, but the global multiplier no longer resets after each spin. Instead, it carries over and can keep building throughout the bonus round.
Finally, five scatter symbols will trigger a round of Heavy Artillery free spins. The global multiplier once again remains active throughout the round, while every Rocket Wild Reel is guaranteed to land with at least three rockets, giving you more chances to increase it.
The slot offers a buy bonus feature that allows you to purchase any of the three rounds of free spins. Tactical Strike free spins can be bought for 100x the stake, Code Red for 300x, and Heavy Artillery for 700x. A 220x Mystery Bonus awards one of the three features.
Is Rocket Recon slot worth a few missile blasts?
The Rocket Recon slot has some interesting features. The Rocket Reels are genuinely fun and give the gameplay both a bit of excitement and a strong visual hook. The problem is that, visually at least, they’re pretty much the only thing worth mentioning.
The graphics in general feel a little stock, and I think Clutch Gaming has leaned a bit too heavily into the clip-art look for a slot released in 2026. I just wanted more. Even the sheer number of free spins rounds starts to feel like an attempt to make up for the slot’s other deficiencies rather than something that genuinely adds depth.
I give the Rocket Recon slot a six out of ten.
