The Vault Chase Slot Review: Smooth Criminal or Total Bust?

Bank heist movies are basically group therapy sessions with ski masks. In Ocean’s Eleven, you’ve got eleven dudes robbing a vault with more style than sense, like a GQ cover shoot accidentally wandered into a casino. The Town gives you Ben Affleck robbing banks while developing feelings, because nothing says romance like stealing from the feds. Inside Man has Clive Owen hiding in a wall for a week just to teach a banker a moral lesson, and Heat is three hours of men refusing to use indoor voices while planning a robbery that goes exactly as badly as Al Pacino’s love life. And no matter what, there’s always one guy who insists, “This is the last job.” Spoiler: it never is.

What is always true about heist movies is that they make for great entertainment, even the bad ones. So, it’s no wonder that slot providers love the genre. AvatarUX is the latest to get in on the action with its new The Vault Chase slot.

It all begins with the crew

The Vault Chase slot from AvatarUX features 25 fixed paylines across a 5-reel layout. Bets range from $0.10 to $30. At the top limit, you can win up to $300,000, thanks to the 10,000x maximum multiplier. The slot has medium volatility, offering a balance between win frequency and size. The RTP is 95.99%.

Key symbols are worth between 0.2x and 200x the bet and are added to the Vault Meter when they land. Safe symbols can appear at any time, but only one type appears per spin, either Standard Safe or Big Safe. If a Safe lands with five or more Key symbols, the Vault Break activates. You then choose to open the Safe or take the Cash Prize, equal to the total value of all visible Key symbols. Standard Safes award between 1x and 2,000x, while Big Safes can pay between 0 and 5,000x the bet.

The Vault Meter tracks collected Keys and levels up as it fills, increasing the value of future Keys and Safes. The Vault Booster symbol instantly fills the remaining meter when it lands, pushing you to the next level with upgraded rewards on the next spin. Only one can appear per spin.

Is The Vault Chase slot worth jailtime?

There is so much great material to draw on when creating a heist-themed slot game. AvatarUX has, however, gone for the most surface-level interpretation, and that’s a little sad. I would have loved to see them build the narrative a bit more and give it a bit more flash with maybe an explosion or two. All in all, not my favourite installment from the game studio. I give The Vault Chase slot a six out of ten.

If you’re looking for a few great AvatarUX slots to try out, I recommend Donkey and The GOAT, and Rebel Paws.
