Funky Time Review

In 1977, Saturday Night Fever made disco the most watched, and mocked, cultural moment of the decade.🕺

The film grossed over $237 million worldwide, launched John Travolta into the stratosphere, and sold 40 million copies of its soundtrack. Then, in 1979, a radio DJ blew up a crate of disco records in what became known as "Disco Demolition Night," and the genre died on the spot.⚰️

Thirty thousand people showed up to watch music get murdered in a baseball stadium, which is a perfectly reasonable response to the Bee Gees.🙉

The irony is that the groove never actually left – it just changed its name and moved to Europe. Which brings us to Funky Time from Evolution.

Gameplay

Funky Time is a live game show built around a 64-segment vertical DigiWheel spun by a live presenter in a fully produced 1970s disco studio.

Your job is to predict where a wheel stops by placing chips on the board area that reflects the Wheel’s contents. The wheel carries three types of segments you can bet on:

  • Number 1s: Occupy 28 of the 64 segments and pays 1:1
  • Letters: Letters spelling out PLAY, FUNK, and TIME twice each across 24 segments (2 segments per letter) and pay 25:1, scaling to a maximum of 1,250:1
  • Bonus games: Bar Bonus (6 segments), Stayin' Alive Bonus (2 segments), Disco Bonus (3 segments), and VIP Disco Bonus (1 segment), which kicks off its relevant mini game.

You can also use the "Bet on 12 Letters" shortcut to cover all 12 Letters in one go, or "Bet on 4 Bonuses" to cover all four Bonus game types simultaneously.

Before each spin, the digital wheel dynamically generates random multipliers and assigns them to random segments. If a multiplier lands on your chosen segment and you win, your payout is multiplied by that multiplier.

For Bonus game segments, the wheel multiplier is carried into the Bonus game itself and amplifies the results.

This game does not accept Australian dollars, Bitcoin Cash, USDT, or Dogecoin.

You can bet as low as $0.10 and as high as $5,000. The 10,000x max multiplier can contribute to the game's €500,000 max win.

The RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
ranges from 95.38% to 95.99%
, depending on which bet type you choose, with Number 1 at the top and VIP Disco at the bottom.

Features

BAR BONUS:

The Bar Bonus game transports you to a disco bar staffed by a CGI robot bartender. Three glasses sit on the counter, one of which you pick as yours.

As the drinks are poured, all three glasses receive random initial multipliers ranging from 2x to 20x. Then the bartender spins a single-reel slot in their head to reveal a garnish extra multiplier of 2x–5x, which is randomly applied to one glass, multiplying its value.

If the Bar segment on the main wheel carried a multiplier, that value multiplies all three glasses' final totals before your payout is determined.

STAYIN' ALIVE:

A ball-drawing machine with 90 colored balls feeds a 20-level multiplier ladder, running from 5x at Level 1 to 1,000x at Level 20. All players start on Level 1 with 4 lives and choose a team color: green, pink, or orange.

There are 1-step balls, which advance you one level, and 2-step balls advance you two levels, but only if the drawn ball matches your chosen color. Black STOP balls cost you 1 life but don't move you up.

The Bonus game ends when all 4 lives are gone, and your payout equals the multiplier at your final level. If the Stayin' Alive segment on the main wheel carried a multiplier, every level value on the ladder is multiplied by that amount before the first ball drops.

DISCO:

CGI character Mr. Funky takes to a 37-square virtual dance floor, starting in the center. After each move, the presenter spins a mini 8-segment directional wheel to determine where Mr. Funky steps next.

Two types of multiplier squares sit on the floor: Regular multipliers, which add 1x–100x to your running total, and Floor multipliers, which double the values of 5 random Regular multiplier squares. The game ends when Mr. Funky dances off the edge.

If the Disco segment on the main wheel carried a multiplier, every Regular multiplier square value is multiplied by it before Mr. Funky starts moving.

VIP DISCO:

Identical mechanics to Disco, played on a larger 63-square dance floor with Regular multiplier square values ranging from 1x to 500x. The single VIP Disco segment on the wheel makes this the rarest and highest-potential Bonus game in the show.

Performance

I tested this game on my Android phone and gaming laptop. I have no idea why you would want to play this game on mobile. There is too much happening on the screen to keep track of, even with the presenter narrating the game and giving results.

Plus, since it's a live game, you need a stable internet connection to stream it. Stick to a desktop setup and a killer internet connection to fully enjoy yourself.

Maximum Win

The maximum payout for all winnings in a single game round is €500,000. The Stayin' Alive, Disco, and VIP Disco Bonus games are individually capped at a 10,000x multiplier. You can wager from $0.10 to $5,000 a round.

Conclusion

The money in Funky Time live comes from two directions that require completely different strategies.

Short-term, base-wheel wins arrive via Letter bets combined with high wheel multipliers. A 50x multiplier on any letter turns that 25:1 payout into a 1,250:1 return in an instant.

Long-term upside lies in the three capped Bonus games, where the 10,000x ceiling is accessible through VIP Disco, Stayin' Alive, or Disco, each with a different path to it.

Betting on Number 1 is the highest-frequency option. It's essentially the session-longevity play: you'll hit it more often than anything else on the wheel, but 1:1 at base means you need a substantial wheel multiplier to generate meaningful returns.

The Letter bets are the base-game sweet spot: 25:1 default with multiplier upside, covering 24 of the remaining 36 non-Bonus segments. Of the four Bonus games, Stayin' Alive has the most transparent win structure.

The 20-level multiplier ladder shows you exactly where you stand and where you could end up, and the wheel multiplier amplifying every single level value is the single most powerful multiplier mechanism in the entire game.

Landing the Stayin' Alive segment with a 5x or 10x wheel multiplier applied means every level on the ladder is already scaled before the first ball drops.

VIP Disco's larger 63-square floor with square values up to 500x gives it the broadest additive range and the most sustained Mr. Funky sessions.

The more steps he takes, the higher the total climbs, although his path is entirely RNG-driven and he can fall off after three moves or thirty.

The Bar Bonus game is the most contained and most transparent entry in the show. Initial multipliers of 2x–20x plus a garnish of 2x–5x on one glass, combined with any wheel multiplier that applies to all three glasses, makes the math readable and the outcome immediate.

It won't threaten the 10,000x ceiling, but it's a faster resolution than either dance floor game.

There is no Buy Bonus and no Ante BetAn Ante Bet is an option that costs a percentage of your bet but increases your chances of landing triggering symbols that initiate a feature. in a live game show context; you're relying entirely on natural triggers.

The "Bet on 4 Bonuses" shortcut lets you spread across all four Bonus game segments simultaneously, which covers 12 of the 64 segments at a single action, reasonable coverage for Bonus-focused play without manually stacking four individual bets.

Funky Time suits players looking for a live-hosted game show with genuine multiplier upside across multiple mechanics. The ceiling is real, and the production value is exceptional, but patience with the wheel is non-negotiable.
