Turbo Baccarat Review

Just like most other men, my dad has never once admitted to being lost. On a family road trip when I was a kid, he squinted at the traffic, announced that he knew a faster way, and swung the car 🚗 off the highway.

About 20 minutes later we were crawling down a gravel road behind a tractor 🚜, and the GPS recalculated with what I swear was a sigh.

The shortcut cost us 40 minutes and became a family legend. Dad refuses to admit it was a mistake and still calls it "the scenic route." Mom calls it something else.

Turbo Baccarat from Pragmatic Play Live swears it knows a faster way too, and this time nobody gets stuck behind a tractor.

Gameplay

The wide shot puts the dealer in front of a purple curtain, gold art-deco pillars, and gold fan-shaped decorations, all above red felt with large gold lettering.

The close-ups skip the scenery and stick to the dealer's hands and the card shoe. Every card has a barcode on it, because the dealer scans every single one.

The game is a fast-paced take on baccarat with 8 decks in the shoe. Your job is to call which hand, Player or Banker, ends up closest to 9, or to back a Tie.

Cards 2 through 9 are worth their face value, an Ace is worth 1, and 10s and face cards are worth nothing. Only the last digit counts, so an 8 and a 7 make 15, which the table reads as 5.

Bets stay open until the timer runs out. The dealer then deals 4 cards, the 1st and 3rd to the Player and the 2nd and 4th to the Banker, and scans them starting with the Player.

If either hand's first 2 cards total 8 or 9, the round's over on the spot. No extra cards come out either when one hand has 6 and the other 7, or when both tie on 6, 7, 8, or 9.

Otherwise the Player draws a 3rd card on a total of 0 to 5 and stands on 6 or 7. The Banker's move depends on its own total and on that 3rd Player card.

A Banker total of 0 to 2 always draws, 7 always stands, and 3 draws unless the Player's 3rd card is an 8. A 4 draws against a Player 3rd card of 2 to 7, a 5 against 4 to 7, and a 6 against 6 or 7.

If the Player stands on 6 or 7 and the Banker holds 0 to 5, the Banker draws. Nobody expects you to memorize the Banker's chart, because neither you nor the dealer gets a say.

A Player bet pays 1:1, a Banker bet pays 0.95:1, and a Tie pays 8:1. When the round ties, Player and Banker bets push, and the table may block you from backing both Player and Banker in the same round.

For the pattern-spotters, there's a Bead Plate and a Big Road with 3 derived roads under it, none of which changes a hand. The table also tracks the round number and running counts of Player, Banker, and Tie results, plus Player and Banker pairs.

Before each round, the Player, Tie, and Banker spots show how many players and how much money are on them. Once the result's in, a winners list scrolls up the screen, and a chat box sits in the top corner.

Chips run from $0.20 to $2,000. Rebet repeats your last bets, Double doubles everything you've placed, and Undo takes back the most recent one.

Here's a quick look at the stats: the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
is 98.94%
, the volatility is low, the max multiplier is 30x, and the max win is $160,400. The game isn't available in Japanese yen.

Features

PAIR BETS

Player Pair and Banker Pair each pay 11:1 when that hand's first 2 cards are a pair, and the cards don't have to match in suit or even in color. Either Pair pays 5:1 and doesn't care whether one hand or both gets the pair.

Perfect Pair is the fussy one, paying 25:1 only when either hand's first 2 cards match in value and suit, like 2 Kings of Hearts. Max bets are $2,000 on Player Pair, Banker Pair, and Either Pair, and $600 on Perfect Pair.

PLAYER BONUS AND BANKER BONUS

Both bets need a main bet underneath them, and each one pays when its hand wins on a natural 8 or 9 or by at least 4 points. A natural win pays 1:1, and a natural tie hands the bet back as a push.

Without a natural, wins by 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 points pay 1:1, 2:1, 4:1, 6:1, 10:1, and 30:1, respectively. Each of the 2 bets maxes out at $2,000.

SIDE BET LIMITS

Every side bet comes with betting limits, and after a certain number of rounds the game can cap a side bet at a percentage of your main bets. Once that cap kicks in, you'll need a main bet down before any side bet goes on.

NO COMMISSION BACCARAT

Hit the NO COMM. button and the table switches from regular baccarat to No Commission baccarat until the betting timer runs out. Banker wins then pay 1:1 with no 5% commission, except a win on a total of 6, which pays 0.5:1.

Super 6 comes along with the mode as insurance on a Banker win with a 6, and it pays 15:1. It needs a main bet first, can't be bigger than that main bet, and maxes out at $1,000.

MULTIPLAY

Multiplay opens a small window from any baccarat table, so you can bet on several tables at once and keep an eye on each one's roads. Only 1 table's video plays at a time, though.

The Settings let you switch on side bets, flip to a roads-only view, add extra statistics, and pick a light or dark scoreboard theme.

Good Roads

The Good Roads tab lists the tables whose recent results match a winning-streak pattern you're tracking. You get 12 default patterns, from Streak and Ping Pong to Sandwich and Switch, plus room to save up to 9 of your own.

Autobet places a Player, Banker, or Tie bet for you each time a table matches a pattern, for 10, 25, or 100 matches. Autobet stops when the matches run out or your balance runs too low.

Performance

The stream stayed steady from one hand to the next, and the table never froze or dropped a round while I played, which is more than I can say for Dad's shortcut.

Maximum Win

The max win is $160,400, and the max multiplier is 30x. Bets top out at $33,600 with side bets included, and the smallest bet the table takes is $0.20.

Conclusion

The game's name promises speed, but the main bets take the slow lane, with Player at 1:1 and Banker at 0.95:1 barely nudging your balance either way. Anything that scales lives in the side bets.

Player Bonus and Banker Bonus carry the biggest top tier, and I did the math: a 9-point win at 30:1 on the $2,000 max bet comes to $60,000. Perfect Pair at 25:1 on its $600 max bet works out to $15,000.

Neither one gets near the $160,400 max win, and nothing on screen explains how that figure is built, so it takes several bets landing in the same round. The 30x max multiplier won't meet the $33,600 top bet either, since 30x of that is $1,008,000.

lets you settle in for a long run of hands without the main bets dragging your balance anywhere fast. Low volatility beside a 30x max multiplier adds up for me, because the only real swings come from the side bets.

No Commission is a straight swap: no 5% off your Banker wins, but a half-pay whenever Banker wins on a 6. Super 6 at 15:1 is the insurance against that half-pay, with a price of its own.

Autobet is a time-saver for road-chasers and nothing more, since it places bets on a pattern without changing any odds.

This table suits patient players betting small who want a live dealer for a long sit. Anyone after a huge multiplier, Free Spins, or a bonus round should take a different exit.
