5 Burning Heart Slot Review

BREAKING NEWS: Not content with all of the other ailments we as humans have to contend with on a daily basis, mother nature has developed an even more severe condition - Burning Heart syndrome. Symptoms include memory loss, frantic arm movements, a sweaty upper lip and not one, not two, not even four but FIVE burning hearts! There’s no need to panic yet, this illness isn’t fatal - just addictive. Sufferers of the condition should expect to live a long life, equipped with 5 times the number of hearts of the average human.

Gameplay

5 Burning Heart is a 5-reel, 5 payline progressive slot powered by software from Amusnet Games. Not content with setting individual hearts racing, EGT is now trying to get hearts a-fluttering all over the world with this release. 5 Burning Heart is a fast-paced, high volatility slot that is sure to get your blood-pressure up - usually not a good thing but in this case, I’d take it as it comes. With traditional symbols, one wouldn’t expect this slot to be as riveting as it is, but nostalgia seems to be the hot new thing. Expect to see grapes, oranges, cherries, lemons, gold bells, dollar signs, and stars - which both represent the Scatter feature, a red ‘7,’ and a heart symbol which acts as the Wild. EGT may have played by the book as far as this slot’s aesthetic goes, but there’s really nothing dull about it. If you’ve played an EGT game before you should be familiar with the controls, but I’ll run through them just in case you’ve got an advanced case of Burning Heart syndrome. 5 Burning Heart has no spin control, rather allowing you to click on your chosen bet, thereby setting the reels in motion. Should you get tired of clicking, you’ll be pleased to find the Auto Play control situated on the bottom left of the screen. Other controls include a sound toggle, an information button, and full-screen mode. Other than that, there’s not too much to know - keep track of your winnings and your balance by tuning into the displays on either side of your screen. It’s all pretty manageable.

Features

5 Burning Heart, much like its predecessor 10 Burning Heart, offers some features that are sure to set your fingertips alight. Like most traditional slots, 5 Burning Heart has a Wild feature which can replace any of the other symbols aside from the Scatters. Unusually though, this slot offers a Wild which, when appearing on reels 2,3 and 4, can appear stacked. Thereby vastly increases your chances of a big payout. Just in case you’re worried that you won’t be able to make enough, there are also two Scatter symbols in the game represented by a purple star, which only appears on reels 1, 3 and 5, and a gold dollar sign. Land 5 dollar signs on any active payline and you have the chance of winning an enormous payout of up to 10 000 coins. Now, doesn’t that leave a warm, fuzzy feeling in your chest?

Unique Features

EGT slots are usually chock-a-block with features. Even so, I’ll admit that I was kind of surprised to see a Gamble featureThis feature allows you to gamble your current winnings. It usually takes the form of guessing what color and/or suit a facedown card will reveal itself to be. A correct guess on the color pays 2x, while a correct guess of the color and suit pays 4x your bet. on such a traditional looking game. Triggered after each win, it’s up to you to decide whether or not you’d like to gamble your winnings. However, this feature is relatively straightforward and offers you the chance to double your winnings. All you have to do is guess whether the next card in a card flip is going to be red or black. Choose correctly, and you win, but get it wrong, and you’ll be sent back to the base game empty handed. Another feature worth mentioning is the progressive jackpot feature. These four jackpots are triggered at random and can increase your prior winnings very nicely. When the jackpot feature is triggered, you’ll be sent to a new screen where you’ll have to choose from 12 facedown cards. Pick three cards from the same suit as one of the progressive jackpots, and you’ll win accordingly.

Performance

Given the old-school aesthetic of the slot, I almost expected 5 Burning Heart’s performance to match. But, I really should learn that appearances aren’t everything because I was proven very wrong once I actually got into playing the game. EGT developers have upped the ante on this slot, with outstanding graphics and quality performance on every device I tried it out on - including my incredibly slow backup laptop. The soundtrack is fun and fruity, utterly suitable to the tone of the slot.

Conclusion

5 Burning Heart is an all-rounder. With a theme that triggers all kinds of good nostalgic feelings and payouts that are set to get your heart racing, it’s not something you want to miss out on.
