Desperate Dawgs 2 Gigablox Slot Review

Have you watched that Netflix series called I am a Stalker? Daaaamn, but there are some desperate people in this world.

I never understood the mentality. Like, if someone’s not into you, why would you go to increasingly extreme measures to try to force them to care? Coz they won’t and it only serves to push them further away.

And then it’s all restraining orders and before you know it, Bubba’s got himself a new b*tch and your cornhole can’t whistle Dixie anymore coz it’s a Grand Canyon-sized gaping… Whoa, I think I need to reign in a little.

Moving swiftly along, this is Desperate Dawgs 2 Gigablox slot from Yggdrasil.

Gameplay

Welcome to the badlands, folks. Out here there ain’t nothin’ but vultures, desert, and cacti. OK, there is one more thing and that’s a massive 5-reel grid filled with sheriff's badges, six guns, cards, and Stetsons.

As a result, the game looks amazeballs on a mobile phone in any orientation. Landscape mode will more closely resemble what you see on a laptop, but portrait mode will do the trick, too.

Getting back to the symbols, the Wild replaces all others except for the three bad-ass canines (Gunslinger, Train Robber, and Bad Boy). More on that later.

As you can tell from the game’s title, you’ll see large symbols on the reels (the eponymous Gigablox), which can help secure wins more easily.

The stats are a bit of good and bad – the RTP is 95.50% (slightly sub-par), but the max win is excellent (€246,800). The volatility rate vacillates between medium to high and the paylines can be increased to a massive 100.

Before we get into the meat and bones of this Western-themed game, I need to mention that the only currency that’s accepted is fiat. Because crypto hadn’t been invented back in them days, right? Let’s go with that.

Features

There are 3 Bonus rounds in Desperate Dawgs 2 Gigablox slot.

GUNSLINGER BONUS:

Six or more yellow Gunslinger symbols will set this feature off, and you’ll get to choose between two six-gun cylinders with varying multipliers.

One cylinder offers multipliers of 1x to 4x, and the other has five that are 1x and a single 10x multiplier.

The objective here is to fire shots at plates with the American flag on em. The plates have values, and the shattered ones will be multiplied by your bullet’s multiplier. Oh, and the number of shots you get initially will equal the number of landed Scatters.

TRAIN ROBBER BONUS:

Landing 6 or more red Train Robber Scatters triggers this round. Again, the number of Scatters determines how many Free Spins you’ll get, and you’ll see a train rumbling past some safes in the foreground.

When the train’s carriage doors open, you might see the following symbols:

Gold bars: award 5x your bet
Silver bars: award 2x your bet
Money stacks: award 1x your bet
Dynamite sticks: award 1, 2, or 3 sticks of dynamite – these are added to the Safe Trails. In other words, if you fill all the dynamite stick positions in front of a safe, you’ll be awarded its prize

A Silver Safe can award a multiplier of up to 30x, while a Golden Safe can give you a multiplier of up to 200x.

BAD BOY BONUS:

Yeah, so naturally the poor Pit Bull has been used as the icon for this bonus. How about we stop perpetuating the myth that these dogs are dangerous, eh? OK rant over.

As you’d expect, you’ll need to land at least 6 of these green Scatters to kick things off and the number of Scatters blah blah.

Each win sees the reels expand by 1 row, adding an extra 15 paylines (up to a maximum of 100) and 2 Free Spins to the mix. At some point, you’ll see the reels shrink to just Gigablox which will explode into a grid full of smaller, similar symbols.

GOLDEN BET:

I’d recommend toggling this one on because for 50% of your stake, it’ll increase your chances of scoring a Bonus.

Performance

Steam trains might have been cutting-edge in the Wild West but luckily things have moved on since then. Yggdrasil uses HTML5 software to ensure their games play on any device and browser, and I can confirm this was the case during testing.

No glitches, hiccups, or pains in the ass of any kind.

Maximum Win

There’s a decent mix here: the 9,872x max multiplier allows for a betting spread of €0.20 to €25 and the top prize is a staggering €246,800 – I would’ve robbed a train for less!

Conclusion

On its own merits, I have to say that I enjoyed Desperate Dawgs 2 Gigablox slot. Some Bonus rounds were harder to land than others (the Gunslinger was like finding a unicorn on Mars), but I did hit a €22,000 win off of a €150 bet the one time.

Do bear in mind though, that our experiences will differ.

I enjoyed the vibrant design, the fact that the mobile version was top-notch, and the whole Gigablox, expanding reels thing and the way the features were integrated into the theme really worked for me.

While the visuals might be very similar to V1 of this game, Yggdrasil has updated and modernized them and bumped up the stats. For example, the max multiplier was 6,690x and there were 20 paylines in the OG version.

By also adding the Gigablox mechanic, it means this game ain’t no re-skin. It’s an excellent upgrade and well worth having a look at.
