The Alice: Time Rift Slot is Giving Arcane Vibes

Time travel sounds incredible until you realize humanity would use it for the dumbest possible reasons. Checking whether your ex misses you. Accidentally wiping out your own family tree. And, somehow, still being late for work because you stopped in 1998 to buy a packet of now-discontinued crisps or a can of Fresca.

Thankfully, in Thunderkick’s new Alice: Time Rift slot, time travel is used for a far more noble purpose: scoring some sweet winnings. That is clearly the perfect application of time travel, I think we can all agree.

Welcome to the madness

The Alice Time Rift slot offers ten fixed paylines across a standard five-reel grid. Betting ranges from a minimum of $0.10 up to a maximum of $20 per spin. If you choose to play at the maximum betting limit, the slot’s 7,500x maximum multiplier gives you a shot at up to $150,000 in winnings.

With high volatility, the gameplay leans towards less frequent but larger payouts rather than regular, small wins. You should expect an RTP of 94.1%.

The Time Rift symbol functions as both a wild and a scatter symbol. You can use it to substitute for standard symbols to complete winning combinations. Landing three or more of these symbols across the reels will trigger a round of the slot’s free spins feature.

If this symbol contributes to a winning combination, you activate the Sticky Respins feature. You will then receive one respin where the winning symbols and the Time Rift symbols remain locked in position.

The Sticky Respins process will continue as long as you land additional Time Rift symbols or if your existing winning combination expands. The feature concludes only when no new symbols lock into place.

You trigger a round of free spins with three, four, or five scatters, which awards eight, ten, or twelve free spins, respectively. The slot also offers a shot at retriggering free spins.

At the start of the round, a symbol is chosen at random. If you triggered your round with three scatter symbols, any symbol can be selected. With four scatter symbols, it’s limited to higher-paying character symbols. Five scatters ensure that Alice, the highest-value symbol, is chosen.

During a round of free spins, the Expanding Wins feature is active. When the Selected Symbol appears on three or more reels, each reel containing that symbol expands to cover all positions after the initial spin or respin is complete.

If you land two or three Selected Symbols on a single reel, you receive a 2x or 3x multiplier, which applies to the resulting expanding win. Time Rift symbols act as substitutes for the Selected Symbol during this phase.

During a round of free spins, Sticky Respins will lock the Selected Symbols in place. Once the respin sequence ends, all Time Rift symbols transform into the Selected Symbol before the final payout is calculated.

The slot gives you the option of purchasing rounds of free spins. A three-scatter triggering costs 100x your bet, four scatters 200x, and five scatters 500x.

Is the Alice: Time Rift slot peak time travel lore?

I love Netflix’s Arcane series. If you haven’t watched it, do yourself a favour. So, when I launched the Alice: Time Rift slot, I was hyped to see that they’d “borrowed” the aesthetics and vibe from the Netflix hit. It’s got the same moody, unhinged vibe, and I’m all in for it.

The bonus features are easily the highlight of the Alice: Time Rift slot. Between Sticky Respins, Expanding Wins, symbol upgrades, and the chance to lock in Alice as the Selected Symbol, there’s a lot more going on here than a standard free spins round with a few extra bells stapled to it.

I give this one a ten out of ten.

If you’re looking for a few other great Thunderkick slots, I recommend trying Wild Heist at Peacock Manor and Bork The Berzerker: Hack ‘N’ Slash Edition. But, to be honest, Thunderkick has a bunch of great slots, so its whole catalogue is worth checking out.
