Action Boost Treasure Trove Slot Review
In my last D&D session, I played by myself; don’t judge😤, but I was playing a character that could turn into a bear🐻 and a huge, strong barbarian🪓.
I turned the shapeshifter into a bear and got ready to fight an evil wizard🧙♂️. For fun, I tried to get the fighter to throw the bear at the wizard. The action was successful when I rolled a natural 20🎲.
Only in Dungeons and Dragons can you have a bear turn into a projectile. That's a cool action for Quickfire to use in the next Action Boost Treasure Trove slot!
Gameplay
Action Boost games are a series from Quickfire Games, and this time, the pirates take the lead in a high-volatility, 5-reel game with up to 40 paylines that is exclusively available in fiat currency. The Russian ruble and the Japanese yen are the only exceptions.
There is a green, red, and purple chest above the reels, collecting color-matched coins that fall on the reels.
The combination of Coins collected during the base game determines the Action Boost awards if the Action Boost Free Spins trigger. More on this under the Free Spins section below though.
The high-paying symbols include a pirate, a parrot, two swords, a pirate hat, and a telescope. Additionally, we have a Wild symbol in the form of a pirate ship, which can substitute for all other paying symbols, with the exception of the Bonus symbol.
The betting range opens up at $0.20 and closes at $40. If you place the highest bet, the 6,250x multiplier allows you to win up to $250,000. Finally, this game boasts a 96.27% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate..
Features
MAP SPIN FEATURE
To the left of the 5 regular reels, there are 3 inactive Map Reels that have a chance of triggering whenever a Skull Coin appears. The Skull covering the reels collects each Skull Coin.
All the Maps are active when the Map Spin feature is activated and 1 spin is awarded. The Action Boost Free Spins trigger when one or more Coins land on the reels. The combination of the Coins that land determines the Action Boosts awarded.
The Map Reels can also award 1 of the 4 Jackpots on offer.
FREE SPINS
Anytime a Coin symbol lands on the 5 regular reels, or when 1 or more Coins land on the Map Reels, you can win free spins.
Green Coin Action Boost:
This Coin awards 5 Free Spins, during which every Gold Coin that lands awards a Bonus Prize or 1 Map Spin. During the Map Spin, you have the opportunity to win a Bonus Prize or upgrade a random symbol to a Wild for the remaining Free Spins.
The 5 reels grow from 4 symbols high to 6 symbols high, increasing the number of paylines to 40. Any landed Wild symbols expand to cover the entire reel.
Red Coin Action Boost:
This Coin grants you 10 Free Spins, and every Gold Coin that lands will either award a Gem, a Bonus Prize, or a single Map Spin.
The Map Spin will award a Gem, a Bonus Prize or a Jackpot Boost. The Jackpot Boost increases its respective Jackpot for the remainder of the Free Spins round.
You'll win one of the matching Jackpots if you collect the correct number of colored Gems:
- Collect 6 Red Gems to win the Mega Jackpot.
- Collect 5 Purple Gems to win the Major Jackpot.
- Collect 4 Blue Gems to win the Minor Jackpot.
- Collect 3 Green Gems to win the Mega Jackpot.
If you’re awarded a Jackpot, the corresponding collected Gems will reset.
Purple Coin Action Boost:
This Coin awards you 5 Free Spins, and each Gold Coin that appears awards 1 Free Spin, 2 Free Spins, a Bonus Prize, or a Map Spin.
The Map Spin will award a Bonus Prize or 1, 2, or 3 Free Spins.
Every Free Spin grants you a random win multiplier of 2x, 3x, or 5x, which applies to all Bonus Prizes and payline wins for that spin.
Multiple Coin Action Boost:
As I previously mentioned, the Coins that initiate the Free Spins determine the Action Boosts, so you may have more than 1 active during the Free Spins.
If you trigger a Red Coin Action Boost, you will receive 10 Free Spins; otherwise, you will only receive 5 Free Spins for the remaining 2.
The Win Multiplier from the Purple Coin Action Boost doesn’t apply to Jackpots from the Red Coin Action Boost.
Performance
This game played flawlessly across multiple browsers on my gaming PC and Android phone.
Maximum Win
The biggest payout here is $250,000, which you can stand a chance of winning if you bet the highest bid permitted and achieve the game’s highest possible multiplier of 6,250x. The betting range is from $0.20 to $40.
Conclusion
These Action Boost games are also very similar in concept to the Power Combo series of games in Quickfire Games’ catalog. I’m not a huge fan of this variation, but I have to admit that when the Action Boost aligns and you’re lucky, it can payout extremely well.
During Free Spins, the Action Boosts are simply Expanded Reels, Jackpots, and Random Win Multipliers.
The game adds completely unnecessary Map Reels to the mix, which I really don't think it needs. They do exactly what the regular reels do, and they award the same thing that Action Boost Coins can award.
Now that I think about it, all of Quickfire Games' Power Combo and Action Boost titles have made collecting Coins in chests above the reels a fairly standard mechanic. They’re milking it to death.
If you haven’t played this type of slot before, you could certainly do worse than this game, and if you’re a fan of this type of game, this is a perfectly predictable entry into the series.

Volatility RateSlot games can have low, medium, high, or extremely high volatility rates (or a combination thereof).
The less volatile the game, the more often it should pay out, but the lower the amount, the less the payout, as this is in keeping with the risk you’re taking. Volatility rate should be considered in conjunction with a game’s RTP.: High
