Andvari the Golden Fish Slot Review
Did you know goldfish🐠 can live up to 15 years? Then why the hell are we allowing all these kids to basically have kill rooms, we call fish bowls🥣, for fun?
It’s a tragedy! So take your mind off this fish genocide and play this game that heavily features goldfish, Andvari the Golden Fish slot🎰 from Quickfire.
Gameplay
Andvari the Golden Fish slot is a Norse mythology-themed game that is played on 5 reels with 4 positions and 40 paylines.
Above each reel is a 4-slot Coin Meter. Each Coin symbol that lands on a reel is collected and, once filled, will trigger the Andvari Wild Reel feature, which I’ll get to in a moment.
The Wild symbol is Andvari the dwarf, and it can substitute for all pay symbols, with the exception of the Coin and Scatter symbols. The Scatter is a treasure chest that appears in reels 2, 3, and 4.
The high-paying symbols are Andvari’s ring, a potion, a totem, a map, and an anchor.
There are also bubbles that can land on the reels, which reveal a Golden Fish symbol, which is collected in Andvari’s boat next to the reels and can randomly trigger another feature called the Bubble Bang Bonus Game.
This is a fiat currency-only game, with the exception of the Japanese yen and the Russian ruble. Bets range from $0.20 to $50, if you bet the maximum, and manage to hit the game’s highest possible multiplier of 5,000x you can win $250,000!
The RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. here is 96.24%, and the game is rated as medium volatility. Now onto the features! Because there are a lot of them.
Features
ANDVARI WILD REEL
As I mentioned up top, there are Coin Meters above each reel, and once 4 Coins are collected and fill the meter, all the positions on the reel below are transformed into Wilds that persist for up to 4 spins.
Scatter symbols that land on Wild Reels shine through and can still count towards triggering Free Spins.
Coin Meters are stored per bet level.
FREE SPINS
When 2 Scatter symbols appear simultaneously in the base game, they contribute 1 step to the Free Spins Boost Meter. You need 2 Scatters to land 40 times to fill the meter, and once filled, Scatters turn into Boosted Scatter symbols.
FREE SPINS BOOST
Whenever 2 Scatter symbols land in the base game at the same time, they’re added to the Free Spins Boost Meter. You need 2 Scatters to land 40 times to fill the meter, and once filled, Scatters turn into Boosted Scatter symbols.
You’ll need to land 3 Boosted Scatters to trigger 12 Boosted Free Spins. These Free Spins start with up to 2 Andvari Wild Reels.
Before your Free Spins start, you get to spin a Wheel that contains multipliers ranging from 2x to 10x to determine a Win Multiplier that will be applied to all the wins during the Boosted Free Spins.
The Free Spins Boost Meter resets after this feature is completed. The Free Spins Boost Meter is also stored per bet level.
JACKPOTS
To win 1 of this game’s 4 Jackpots, you need to trigger the Bubble Bang Bonus Game, which is triggered randomly whenever a Golden Fish is collected during the base game.
You’re taken to a new screen with 16 bubbles that you must pop to reveal a different colored fish corresponding to one of the Jackpots. The first 3 matching fish award their corresponding prize.
- The green Mini Jackpot awards 15x your bet.
- The blue Minor Jackpot awards 40x your bet.
- The purple Major Jackpot awards 500x your bet.
- The red Grand Jackpot awards 5,000x your bet.
BUY BONUS
You can skip the base game and trigger 12 Free Spins for 65x your bet.
GAMBLE FEATURE
The Gamble featureThis feature allows you to gamble your current winnings. It usually takes the form of guessing what color and/or suit a facedown card will reveal itself to be. A correct guess on the color pays 2x, while a correct guess of the color and suit pays 4x your bet. lets you spin a wheel for 35.5x your bet to stand a 50/50 chance of triggering Free Spins.
Performance
Unfortunately, this slot does take a little long to load, but once it does, it plays perfectly. I tested it on my gaming laptop and Android phone.
Maximum Win
The most you can win here is 5,000x your bet, which if you place the highest bet in the range, which starts at $0.20 and goes up to $50, will win you $250,000.
Conclusion
It’s refreshing to see a Norse-themed slot that doesn’t focus on Odin, Thor or Loki for once. Although Andvari is a pretty obscure character who cursed his stolen treasure. A bit of a strange theme for a slot.
Aside from that, the game is packed with features. You collect Coins to turn reels into Wild Reels. You Collect 2 Scatters 40 times to trigger Boosted Free Spins.
The Boosted Free Spins require a large number of spins to fill the Boost Meter, which could cost you a significant amount of time and money.
However, you can use the Bonus Buy and Gamble features to trigger the ordinary Free Spins, and both are much cheaper than the standard 100x your bet price. I loved the Gamble Feature, especially.
This is the first Foxium title I’ve reviewed, and I can’t wait to play another. Give this game a shot; I think you’ll dig it too.
