Avalon X Slot Review
“Once a beacon of wealth and power, The Isle of Avalon fell to ruin under a sorcerer’s curse. Its king turned to greed and his knights corrupted, the island plunged into chaos. To break the curse and reclaim Avalon, one must face darkness itself.” 😱
While this intro sounds ominous, Avalon X slot from ELK Studios is pretty vanilla. Except for the pentacles that might send those of you living in the Bible Belt scurrying off to seek forgiveness from your Maker. But then again, if you’re gambling… 🤷♂️
Not that I’m here to proselytize or pass judgment. Lord knows I’m the last person who should be doing that – with the exception of passing judgment on this game, coz that’s what I do, and that’s why you’re here, reading my drivel. 😉
Gameplay
Given the above description of the game, and its title, you might expect to find the 6-reel, 7-row grid in some enchanted forest – and you’d be right.
When you first load the game, you’ll see massive pentacles – these are the Mystery Boxes and I’ll talk about them in more detail below.
What should also become apparent when you first look at the game is that it works on a Cluster PaysUnlike traditional paylines, Cluster Pays can award wins when a minimum number of matching symbols land adjacent to each other (vertically or horizontally), forming a cluster. system. Winning clusters consist of 5 or more identical symbols, and these need to be connected horizontally or vertically.
Naturally, a winning cluster is also followed by a CascadeOtherwise known as a Tumble, Avalanche, or whatever a studio sees fit to name it. The idea is the same, though; winning symbols get removed, and new ones take their place. This action could result in additional wins, in which case the action continues. feature, where the winning symbols explode so that others can take their place.
You’ll probably also see that there are overly large symbols, too. Low-paying and high-paying symbols, along with Mystery Box symbols (these are the pentacles), can occur in the following sizes: 1x1, 2x2, 3x3, and 4x4.
Big symbols can also crush 1x1 symbols on their way down after a CascadeOtherwise known as a Tumble, Avalanche, or whatever a studio sees fit to name it. The idea is the same, though; winning symbols get removed, and new ones take their place. This action could result in additional wins, in which case the action continues.; however, symbols of the same type as the Big symbols will survive, as will Wilds, Scatters, and Mystery Box symbols.
Wilds are created with each winning cluster. Wilds substitute for all symbols other than Mystery Box, Scatters, or Super Scatters.
If Multiplier Wilds contribute to a cluster win, their multipliers will be added together and the win amount will be boosted accordingly.
Above the reels is a Global Multiplier – this applies to all winning clusters. Each winning cluster made up of low-paying symbols (animals) also boosts the Global Multiplier by a value of 1x, whereas each win made up of high-paying symbols (knights) boosts the Global Multiplier by 2x.
Global Multipliers persist through a CascadeOtherwise known as a Tumble, Avalanche, or whatever a studio sees fit to name it. The idea is the same, though; winning symbols get removed, and new ones take their place. This action could result in additional wins, in which case the action continues. but they reset after a spin.
Scratching under the surface reveals a 94% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate., a medium to high volatility rate, a 10,000x max multiplier, and a $200,000 max win. This game only accepts fiat money, so crypto players won’t be able to bet here unfortunately.
Features
MYSTERY BOX:
Mystery Boxes are blocking symbols. If 5 or more of them land on the grid, they can reveal a payout symbol, a Wild, or they can trigger an Avalon feature:
- Collection: All Coin values that are revealed are collected
- Redrop: A symbol drop is awarded and any Mystery Boxes currently on the grid are reactivated
- Global Multiplier Spreader: This multiplies a random number of coin values
If a Mystery Box reveals a payout or a Wild, and this leads to a win, then a new chain of Cascades will take place.
HOLY STRIKE:
When this feature triggers, a random number of symbols on the grid will be replaced by Wilds, Multiplier Wilds, or Mystery Boxes.
FREE SPINS:
Land 3 Scatters and you’ll be awarded 7 Free Spins, with an extra Scatter or Super Scatter awarding 2 more spins. In this round, the Global Multiplier and unopened Mystery Boxes are persistent.
SUPER FREE SPINS:
If you land 2 Scatters plus a Super Scatter, this feature will kick off and it guarantees that a Holy Strike will take place on each spin. Nailing a Super Scatter during regular Free Spins upgrades the round to Super Spins.
X-ITER:
Increase each bet by 3x and you’ll have more than triple the chance of triggering Free Spins. Increase your bet further to 25x per spin for a guaranteed Holy Strike.
- Pay 50x per bet and you’ll be guaranteed a minimum of 5 Mystery Boxes.
- Pay 100x per bet for Free Spins.
- Pay 500x per bet for Super Free Spins.
Performance
I didn’t experience any issues during testing.
Maximum Win
Betting ranges from $0.20 to $20. The max multiplier is 10,000x, and the max win is $200,000.
Conclusion
First off, this game’s hit frequency is 23.8%, which means that you’ll score one win for every 4.2 spins. That’s not bad, but the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. means this game should rather be played over a short to medium duration.
The fundamental money-maker is the Free Spins and Super Spins rounds, with their persistent Global Multipliers and Mystery Boxes. Couple that with the CascadeOtherwise known as a Tumble, Avalanche, or whatever a studio sees fit to name it. The idea is the same, though; winning symbols get removed, and new ones take their place. This action could result in additional wins, in which case the action continues. feature and you could be looking at some serious shekels.
When it comes to the X-iter options, I’d avoid the 3x one, but the 25x Holy Strike is one I’d deploy during favorable conditions.
Free Spins for 100x provides an optimal risk/reward ratio, and I might even dip into the Super Free Spins 500x option if I was an aggressive player with deep pockets. None of this is advice, though, it’s just my humble opinion.
I reckon Avalon X slot has exceptional short-term wealth creation potential (this isn’t a game I’d grind away at) but it’ll take some doing to overcome the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.’s constraints.

Volatility RateSlot games can have low, medium, high, or extremely high volatility rates (or a combination thereof).
