The fact that this is my 7th review about an Aztec video slot bears testament to their enduring appeal. What is it about this ancient civilization that has kept them “alive” in our history books and entertainment for so long?

Aztec Gems has only one feature of note, but its a doozie – the “4th reel” is entirely filled with multiplier values. Whichever multiplier is landed on the fourth reel applies to all winning paylines from that spin!

Performance
The music and sound effects seem to blare away no matter how low the volume. This keeps the adrenalin pumping but gets tiresome after a while. The graphics are good, if not spectacular, but the subtle animations are a standout, with a stunning waterfall in the background.
Aztec Gems performed admirably on all devices tested.
Conclusion
Aztec Gems is built entirely around its multiplier reel which makes it a novel game to try at least once. I found myself enjoying this feature tremendously and wondering why it's not more prominent in other slots.
