Blazing Rails Slot Review

If I had the money, I’d buy the largest bank vault I could find and live in it. Now, before you laugh, just hear me out.

In 1957, when the US was conducting nuclear tests, it transpired that a 37,000-ton nuke barely loosened the trim of a bank vault. So the thing is, a bank vault house would be safe from everything – even the goddamn Apocalypse! 💥

The other cool thing about vaults is they sometimes have secret rooms and passageways, false walls, and so on. Just imagine how sweet it would be to have a Red Room in a vault (I can hear the 50 Shades of Grey fans clenching their thighs together in anticipation). 😈

But the first problem to solve is one of money. Blazing Rails slot from Quickfire offers a quarter of a million dollars – now that could go a long way towards my bank vault dream house! 🏠

Gameplay

We’re riding on a train with a 5x4-reel grid that has diamonds, gold coins, gold bars, and stacks of cash as its symbols. There’s also a Wild which replaces all symbols except for the Train, Multiplier Upgrade, Collect, and Free Spins symbols.

There’s a Jackpot meter to the left which shows the Mini (10x your bet), Minor (25x your bet), Major (100x your bet), and Mega Jackpots (500x your bet). More on this in a bit.

Blazing Rails slot looks okay on a phone – so what I’m trying to say is it’s possible to play it on a smaller device, but it’s not a brilliant experience.

Features

CASH COLLECT:

This feature is triggered during the base game when Train symbols appear at the same time as the Collect symbol (a bank vault) lands on reel 5. I’ll circle back to how the feature works, but I must explain some other elements quickly.

Train symbols can carry values of 1x to 500x the total bet, as well as a Jackpot value. If you land a Jackpot value, you’ll be paid its respective multiplier.

There’s also something called a Multiplier Upgrade symbol that lands on reel 5. It serves to increase the Train Booster’s value by 1. You’ll see the Train Booster meter above reel 3.

The Train Booster starts with a multiplier value of 1x and goes up to 10x.

When the Cash Collect feature kicks in, you’ll be awarded the sum of the Train symbols’ prize values, which will be multiplied by the Train Booster value. The Train Booster will reset after each Cash Collect. 💰

FREE SPINS:

The Free Spins round comes about when you land at least 1 Train symbol on each reel. You’ll get 5 spins, and you’ll also notice that each of the reels now has its own Money Vault above it.

Landing Train or Multiplier symbols will increase the Vault’s values (which won’t reset with each spin).

There are some special modifier symbols that appear during the round:

  • Reel Collect: Awards the value that’s in the Vault on that reel
  • All Collect: Awards all of the Vault values
  • +5 Spins: The Extra Spin symbol awards up to 5 additional spins
  • Train: This symbol increases the value of the Vault by 1x to 500x
  • 500 All: The All Vaults Value symbol boosts all Vault values by 1x to 500x
  • 5x Reel: This Vault Multiplier symbol increases the value of the Vault on its reel by 2x to 5x
  • 3x All: This All Vaults Multiplier increases all Vault values by 2x to 5x

BUY BONUS:

Pay 100x to unlock the Free Spins feature, or pay 300x for the Super Free Spins round. The latter means you’ll have a better shot at boosting the Vault values and collecting their values.

Performance

I tested Blazing Rails slot on a couple of devices (my phone, tablet, and laptop) and on two browsers (Safari and Chrome). There were no glitches or issues.

Maximum Win

You can bet from $0.20 to $25, and if you combine the latter with a 10,000x multiplier, you’ll have scored the $250,000 top payout.

Conclusion

I found it spectacularly difficult to trigger the Free Spins round organically, which pretty much forced me to make use of the Buy Bonus. And paying 300x a pop for the Super Free Spins will quickly blast through all but the most robust wallet.

I like that the studio has tried to take a different approach to the game by adding modifiers to the Free Spins round, which can totally boost your winnings, and baking in a Jackpot feature in the base game with the Cash Collect.

You can’t fault Blazing Rails slot for its stats, especially that super generous multiplier. So, yeah, I’m happy with the game, but it’s still a challenging one that suits deeper pockets.
