Book of Power Slot Review
Writing books is hard, and I say this as someone who has written three in his time. As a writer, I must confess to having had aspirations of penning a great novel at some point, but that idea quickly went tits up after realizing what was involved.
And there’s that other thing called talent – I’m no Ernest Hemmingway, Charles Bukowski, or F. Scott Fitzgerald, although I’m open to drinking excessively to lubricate the cogs, if that’s what it takes.
But I think an easier way to fame and fortune – more the latter than the former – is Book of Power slot from Relax. And it’s easier on the liver, too.
Gameplay
Our adventures into the land of the Pharaoh finds us ensconced in a building with massive statues flanking a 5x3-reel grid. The symbols are massive on the desktop version and are fairly sizeable on a mobile phone in either orientation.
Book of Power slot is based on a decent math model too – 10 paylines, a 96.11% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate., and a high volatility rate which brings with it a €225,000 max win. Currency is limited to the fiat variety, so crypto folk won’t be able to participate. Sorry ’bout that.
Symbol-wise, we have an explorer dude, a Tutankhamun-type of gold bust, a scarab beetle thing, and a blue pyramid. The Book works as a Wild; replacing all symbols other than the special Expanding symbol you’ll find in the Free Spins round.
Features
There are two Free Spin rounds that you can trigger in Book of Power slot. They work somewhat similarly, but there are some nuances.
ORDINARY FREE SPINS:
You’ll be awarded 10 Free Spins when you land 3 Book symbols simultaneously, 15 spins for 4 of the symbols, and 20 spins for 5 Books.
At the start of things, a random symbol is selected to act as a special Expanding symbol. If these symbols can expand to form a win, they’ll do so and cover the entire reel they’re on; paying out on all 10 lines.
Landing 2 new Book symbols during Free Spins adds an additional Expanding symbol to the mix, along with 5 more spins.
If the random symbol chosen to act as an Expanding one is the same as what was previously selected, a 1x multiplier is instead added to it.
POWER FREE SPINS:
Landing a combo of Book symbols, with one of those being a Power Book, awards Power Free Spins. Hitting 3 symbols awards 10 power spins, 4 symbols awards 15 power spins, and 5 symbols get you 20 power Free Spins.
Again, a random symbol will be chosen as the special Expanding symbol. It does the same job as before – if a win is possible, it’ll expand and pay out on all lines.
If you manage to land 2 new Book symbols now, the current Expanding symbol will be upgraded to a higher-paying symbol and you’ll get 5 more spins.
Once the Expanding symbol has been bumped up to the highest-paying symbol of them all, subsequent re-triggers add a 1x multiplier to it.
If you hit a Power Book symbol on reels 2 to 4, the reel it's on will turn golden. Now, the Expanding symbol grows even if there’s no Expanding symbol on the reel.
Lucky Boost:
This feature can be randomly triggered at the start of a Free Spins round and it will increase your chances of a big win.
POWER BET (BUY BONUS):
You have two options to get yourself into the various Free Spins rounds fast: pay 100x your bet for the “normal” Free Spins or 200x for Power Free Spins. In both cases, you’ll receive random spins of either 10, 15, or 20.
Performance
After many hundreds of spins with not a single glitch on the radar, I can confidently assume that you shouldn’t have any problems either.
Maximum Win
Betting for Book of Power slot starts at €0.10 and tops out at €15. The max multiplier is a generous 15,000x and the top prize comes in at €225,000.
Conclusion
While “easy” isn’t the name of the game when it comes to slots, of any sort, it’s always good to balance what a game offers with reality.
Combining Expanding symbols with multipliers is a nice touch, but the truth is that it’s hard to cash in on this feature. It’s also difficult to score more than 10 initial spins, if my experience is anything to go by.
But none of this should come as a surprise – game studios are hardly charity organizations.
We know that the underlying stats of Book of Power slot are solid, but if you’re not into this genre, or if you want more features than just Free Spins, then maybe looking elsewhere is best.
For those who like this kinda thing, Book of Power slot is as challenging – and potentially rewarding – as a “book of” game gets.
