Brick Snake 2000 Slot Review
Nokia was a groundbreaking company for various reasons, but even they couldn’t have imagined that a simple ringtone would grant them worldwide recognition. 🤙
It’s estimated that the Nokia ringtone was played more than 20,000 times per second at the peak of its glory, and to this day, I’m like a Pavlovian dog when I hear it. I perk up and start looking for my phone before I realize it's 2024, and I have an iPhone that’s on silent. 📱🤫
The ringtone is based on a 19th-century piece by Spanish composer Francisco Tarrega called Gran Vals. A Nokia employee adapted part of the song to demo some synthesizer technology but the earworm had been created and the tune stuck. 🎶
Something else that’s addictive, and also features a Nokia phone – actually, Nolimit City calls it a Nokyou – is Brick Snake 2000 slot. 🧱🐍
Gameplay
Waaahaaaahaaaaa. Oh my sack, I love NLC games! They’re constantly mixing things up and this time we’re looking at a slot modeled on an old Nokia 8-bit game; presumably from the year 2000 – hence the title Brick Snake 2000 slot.
The background is like an older version of JerryRigEverything’s bench, and the soundtrack is the ringtone from that Nokia with a voiceover and a Chihuahua’s barking. Well, I assume it’s that flavor of dog, as its one of the symbols on the reels.
Other symbols include what looks like Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys, one of his kitties, and an alien thing that might be Slimer from Ghostbusters. Then there’s also a Tamagotchi, a CD, a wireless drill, and a SIM card.
There are 3,125 ways to win in this extremely volatile slot. The top payout is not as generous as some of their other games, at $324,400, nor is the 16,220x multiplier the largest I’ve seen from the studio, but it’s still pretty impressive.
The RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. is 96.03% and you can play with any currency that tickles your fancy.
Features
xWAYS:
Fans of Nolimit City will be intimately familiar with this symbol. It can land on any reel in this game and reveals pay symbols that are similar and that have sizes of 2, 3, 4, 5, or 8110.
If more than one xWays symbol drops, all xWays will reveal the same type of symbol.
MOVING WILD SNEK:
That’s not a type-o, before you ask. You can land a Wild Snek anywhere in the base game, and it will move 1 to 5 positions in any direction except backward. Wherever it lands, those positions transform into Wilds.
So it’s paying homage to those old arcade games like Centipede only in a far funnier way. The snake’s head is a hand with two wonky eyes stuck on it. I can’t explain it well enough; you’ll need to check it out yourself. It’s a hoot!
If a Wild Snek crosses over a revealed xWays symbol, that position will transform into a Wild of a size revealed by the xWays symbol.
SNEK SPINS:
You’ll trigger this feature when you land 3 or 4 Scatters. These Scatters transform into Snek symbols (I’ll describe what these do in a sec), and the feature doesn’t use paylines but instead offers modifiers.
Snek symbols:
These also move in any direction, although not backward. Multiple Sneks move one at a time (oldest ones first) and just like an arcade game, if the Snek drops off on one side of the grid, it will reappear on the corresponding opposite side.
Snek symbols move until they eat themselves or if they eat a Slayer 🤘 symbol. After eating itself, a Snek stops for a spin and then starts again from 1 position prior to its killing point for the next spin.
Spins end when all Sneks die.
Coins:
Coins have values of 1 to 5, 10, or 100. If a Snek snacks on a Coin, that value will be added to your win.
Multipliers:
Multipliers have values of 1x to 5x, and 10x. If a Snek eats a multiplier, the Coin multiplier gets increased.
Eggs:
If a Snek eats an egg, a new Snek head will grow out of its ass, I mean tail.
Slayer:
Reign in Blooood! 🎸 Sorry, I got swept up in the moment. Slayer skulls are sticky and if a Snek eats one of these, it will die and won’t be present for the next spin.
Upgrade:
Eating an UP symbol means a Snek will transform into a Super Snek.
Maxwin:
Eating a Maxwin symbol results in 8,110x the base bet being awarded! If the Maxwin is on the grid but hasn’t been eaten in 4 Snek steps, it will disappear.
SUPER SNEK SPINS:
This one gets triggered when 5 Scatters land. When that happens, Scatters 3 and 4 will transform into Sneks.
This round has a Collector 2000 symbol which adds the sum of all coin values to its own value at the start of each spin.
When the Snek eats a Collector symbol, the symbol's value is added to the coin value counter. Then, the current win multiplier boosts the value of the Collector 2000 symbol.
BUY BONUS:
As you’d expect, there are a good few options to choose from here.
- Buy 3 Snek Spins for 50x
- Buy 4 Snek Spins for 100x
- Buy Super Snek Spins for 360x
- Buy an xBet for 1.05x
- Pay 96x for a Lucky Draw where you could trigger any of the Snek Spins
- Pay 1,689x for God Mode, or 8,360x for God Mode Deluxe
In God Mode, you’ll chase the max win by attempting to land a Max symbol on reel 1 and a Win symbol on reel 5 of the same row.
You can use God Mode Deluxe to play Double or Nothing, where you have a 50/50 chance that your winning amount will be doubled or lost.
The maximum payout in Double or Nothing is 8,110x your base bet. Just be warned: once you select God Mode, there’s no way back. You only have the option to agree to play Double or Nothing; there’s no way to cancel it.
Also, all of the Buy Bonus options need to be deselected else they’ll just keep repeating.
xBET:
This is an Ante BetAn Ante Bet is an option that costs a percentage of your bet but increases your chances of landing triggering symbols that initiate a feature. where an extra 5% guarantees a Scatter on the second reel.
Performance
I had no issues with the game other than that it times out very fast.
Maximum Win
While these are not the best numbers I’ve ever seen from Nolimit City, they’re still top-notch – which is as it should be, considering the extreme risk you’d be taking.
The largest multiplier you can nail is 16,220x and when combined with a $20 bet (the smallest bet is $0.20), that results in a top prize of $324,400.
Conclusion
There’s no denying that Nolimit City does innovative and edgy better than any other studio on the planet. And they keep coming up with crazy-ass themes, unlike most studios that churn out the same thing a million times.
And here’s another mental thing about Brick Snake 2000 slot. You can place a bet, using God Mode Deluxe, of $167,200, on a single spin with a 50/50 chance of winning or losing. Where have you ever seen such a thing? It’s wild!
Everything about this game shouts “extreme” – including the fact that you can select a Buy Bonus which will be active until you click it off. And that could mean huge losses (or maybe wins, but let’s be realistic…) if you’re rolling with God Mode or God Mode Deluxe.
Brick Snake 2000 slot is biblical in its ability to heap curses upon your head, or shower you with King Solomon-esque wealth. But one thing’s for sure: you will be entertained.
