Brute Force Slot Review

Imagine if Arnie and Stallone strapped on their sweaty 💩 headbands, brandished some tree-felling machine guns, and headed out into the jungle to make war with the Viet Kong, the Predator, or whoever.

This was probably the premise for the 80s video arcade game đŸ•č Contra, published by Konami. The characters are hinted at in Nolimit City’s Brute Force slot, but the game isn’t as action-packed as you might assume.

This isn’t a bad thing; the studio tends to go off the deep end and keeping track of all the features and modifiers can be a nightmare đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«. Not so here.

Contra ended up as one of the top four highest-grossing games of 1987 so who knows? Maybe the latest game from the notorious studio will mirror that success. 💰

Gameplay

No waaaaaayyyy! Nolimit has conjured up memories of my misspent youth playing arcade games, where the prize wasn’t money so much as the attention of the babes who used to hang out there.

We’ve got the 8-bit visuals of jacked dudes with massive weaponry, and the electronic music that ties it all together.

The high-paying symbols are cyborg or alien dudes with guns, and the game’s stats read as you’d expect: 21 paylines, a 96.08% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
, an “insane” volatility rate, and a $320,000 top prize.

The 40,000x max multiplier is a far cry from the 200,000x of San Quentin 2 Death Row slot that the studio released earlier, but it’s still a considerable number.

Features

XNUDGE WILDS:

The game has three types of fully expanded Wilds, representing the characters Joshua, Hyper, and Jason. These symbols always nudge to be fully visible on the reels. Plus, each of them has a random multiplier value, which updates once the nudging has stopped.

  • Joshua xNudge Wilds: Each nudge increases the win multiplier by 1x up to 8x
  • Jason xNudge Wilds: Each nudge increases the win multiplier by 2x up to 21x
  • Hyper xNudge Wild: Each nudge increases the win multiplier by 5x up to 51 x

Each multiplier is added to a global multiplier, which is applied to your win.

BRUTE SPINS:

As the name suggests, this is a Free Spins round, which you’ll trigger by landing 3 Scatters (labeled “VS”). You get 10 spins and there’s nothing special about this feature.

SUPER BRUTE SPINS:

Land 4 Scatters and you’ll enter the upgraded Free Spins round with 10 spins. Now, xNudge Wilds will be sticky throughout the feature.

NOLIMIT BOOSTER (ANTE BETS):

  • Option 1 costs 4.7x your bet but guarantees a Scatter on reel 2, meaning you’re 10x more likely to trigger a Free Spin round.

  • Option 2 costs 60x, and you’ll score an xNudge Wild, which is guaranteed.

  • Option 3 costs 333x and you’re guaranteed at least 2 xNudge Wilds.

  • Option 4 costs 4,000x and you’ll land 4 xNudge Wilds for sure.

BUY BONUS:

Buy Brute Spins for 100x, Super Brute Spins for 800x, or take your chances and pay 450x for a 50/50 chance of winning either.

Performance

The obsession took hold of me and I played round after round of Brute Force slot with no issues to report. The game does time out rather quickly, as is the way of Nolimit City games, but that was the worst of it.

Maximum Win

You’ll only need to bet $8 to be in line for the $320,000 potential payout thanks to the generosity of the 40,000x max multiplier. The minimum bet is $0.20.

Conclusion

Nolimit City has decided not to shove a million complicated features down our gullets with Brute Force slot, which links up nicely to the arcade game theme they’ve gone for. All we have are fully expanded Wilds with multipliers and 2 Free Spin rounds. That’s it.

But my role as Devil’s Advocate wouldn’t be fulfilled if I didn’t point out an alternative. Mega Wild spin from GameArt offers $302,700 off a medium volatility rate, but the issue is that it requires a bet of 300 bucks from you with each spin.

So there’s the choice: pay a ton of cash per spin for a medium volatility rate or take the chance with 8 bucks per spin for an insane one.

There are, of course, other choices such as Le Pharaoh slot, also with a medium volatility rate, a 15,000x max multiplier, and a $300,000 top prize that asks only 20 bucks of you per spin.

That game has Free Spins, a Hold and WinThis feature plays out on a new screen. Typically, you get 3 re-spins (which could be re-triggered), and the triggering symbols usually stick to the position on which they land. Your objective is to land as many symbols as possible on the grid (you could land blank tiles, too). round, 4 Buy Bonus options, multipliers up to 500x and more.

I have to conclude that Brute Force slot is my favorite Nolimit City game so far because they haven’t over-engineered it. With its OTT volatility rate, it’s still no pushover, so you still get the crazy treatment from this Maltese studio with a penchant for the extreme.
