Cairo Link & Win Slot Review
Listen, when you’ve reviewed as many Ancient Egypt-themed slots as I have, sometimes finding inspiration for the umpteenth introduction of the month takes a little finessing.
I’m one of those astrology girls – yeah, the ones everyone loves to hate. I can’t help it, it’s fun and is a red flag that I don’t think I have to feel too embarrassed about.
So while I was thinking about what to write for this intro, I did a little bit of research into the origins of the name “Cairo.” Turns out that it’s believed to come from the Arabic name for the planet Mars, “Al Najm Al Qahir,” which was rising the day the city was founded in 972 C.E.
So suck on that haters.
Anyway, here’s Cairo Link & Win slot from Quickfire.
Gameplay
I’m going to level with you, I’ve played so many Ancient Egypt slots by now that they all kind of just blend together. So it really takes something special to make any sort of real impression on me, and Cairo Link & Win slot didn’t immediately have that kind of impact.
In fact, I’d go so far as to say that the graphics are a little on the old school side of things. The reels are extremely busy, with little breathing room for the symbols to really shine.
It’s available to play on mobile and desktop devices, and I’d recommend spinning this one in landscape mode if you choose to play on the go. Why? Well, because it mirrors what you’d see on your desktop, and just looks less crowded than the portrait version.
And for a quick rundown of the stats, let’s start with the 96.21% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. (just above industry standard). Cairo Link & Win slot has a high volatility rate, and it offers a generous €250,000 maximum win.
Unfortunately this is a fiat only game (excluding Japanese yen), and the bet limits range from €0.25 to €25. So that means you’ll need to land a 10,000x bet multiplier to score the max win.
Features
WILD
The Wild will land on reels 2 to 5, and will substitute for all symbols except the Eye of Ra, Pyramid, and Opal symbols.
EXPANDED REELS
Land the Eye of Ra symbol on reels 1 and 2 to trigger the Expanded Reels feature. During this round reels 3 to 5 will expand to create a 3x5 grid.
Five Link&Win symbols are awarded instantly, but you’ll need 6 of them to trigger the Link&Win feature (which we’ll get to in a sec).
LINK&WIN FEATURE
Landing 6 or more Link&Win symbols triggers this round, during which cash prizes are awarded. The feature starts with 3 spins, with all Link&Win symbols staying on the reels for the duration of the round.
Any additional Link&Win symbols will reset the round, and the feature will only end when all 15 positions are filled by these symbols or when no spins remain.
Landing 15 Link&Win symbols will award the Mega prize, which is added to the sum of the prizes you awarded by the other symbols.
The Link&Win symbols will land on the reels, and can contain multiplier values ranging from 1x to 9x your bet, or Major, Minor, or Mini cashpot prizes.
Major: 1,000x your bet
Minor: 50x your bet
Mini: 10x your bet
FREE SPINS
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Pyramid Scatters will trigger 10 Free Spins. When 3 Link&Win symbols land on reel 3, they are duplicated on reels 2 and 4, and the Link&Win feature is instantly activated.
Performance
I tested Cairo Link & Win slot on my iPhone 13 and MacBook Pro, and it didn’t present any problems. It’s also good to go on the browser of your choice (yes, even Internet Explorer).
Maximum Win
The good news is that we have a €250,000 maximum win to work towards here, which is generous by anyone’s standards. However, not all players can sustain a €25 bet, and the high volatility rate means that wins will likely come in less frequently.
Conclusion
I’m not sure if Quickfire did enough to make Cairo Link & Win slot stand out from its numerous Ancient Egyptian competitors. It has a couple of interesting features, and the maximum win is generous, but otherwise it’s quite generic.
If you’re not chasing incredibly complicated gameplay, then this slot might do the trick for you, but if you’re looking for action I’d suggest something else. Unless you’re totally new to gambling, you’ve probably seen many slots similar to this one, so groundbreaking it is not.
