You must be familiar with the Angry Birds series of games, right? But do you know why they chose the poor pig as the antagonist in the story? 🐷🐖

One version of events states that pigs were chosen because Swine Flu was making headlines at the time. That theory has been contested because Angry Birds was allegedly already in development by the time Swine Flu hit in 2009.

Word around the campfire is that the game’s inspiration came from the traditional Finnish easter custom where witches ask for treats. The witches are accompanied by pigs, which are considered magical animals in Finnish folklore. 🧙‍♀️

And now we move on from angry fowls to pissed-off felines; specifically Cat Clans 2 Mad Cats slot from Quickfire. 😾

Other symbols to watch out for are the Cash Prize balls of fire that pay out 0.2x, 0.6x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 20x, or 50x your bet.

FURRY SPINS:

Also known as Free Spins, 😉 you’ll need to land 3 to 5 Free (Furry) Spin symbols anywhere on the reels to trigger the feature. You’ll be gifted 3, 4, or 5 spins as a result. I know, that’s not many spins…

Landing Wilds during Free Spins re-triggers the feature and you’ll be awarded the same number of spins you started with. In addition, Wilds will become sticky until the feature ends. With each spin, a single Wild symbol’s multiplier will randomly increase by 1x.

As you’d expect, Free Spins end when you run out of spins or no more Wilds land on the reels.

MAD RE-SPINS:

This feature is randomly triggered after Mystery Box symbols hit and are collected in the green Mystery Box the rats are sitting on. You’ll only see Mystery Boxes or blank symbols on the reels when the feature kicks off.

Landing new Mystery Boxes means a re-spin and the feature ends when no more new Boxes hit. At this point, all of the Mystery Boxes reveal a random symbol; if it turns out that symbol is a Cash Prize, then all of the values are added up and awarded.

BUY BONUS:

Called the Feature Shop in this game, it’s where you can buy 3, 4, or 5 Free Spins for 50x, 80x, or 200x your bet.

Maximum Win

Now this is a multiplier: 20,000x is the bad boy that you could clinch and if you combine that with a bet of €10, which is your max (€0.20 is the least you can bet), you’ll walk away with a wallet stuffed with €200,000.

Conclusion

I don’t like the Bonus Buy option, nor do I like the Free Spins round. The latter only offers up to 5 spins; if you use the former, you’ll have to pay up to 200x for 5 spins. That’s just ludicrous.

This game's predecessor awarded 3 spins, so while 5 spins is an improvement, the reality is that it’s still rubbish. Other games will typically offer 8 - 10 spins for 100x your bet.

To be fair, you’ll probably add to your Free Spins count by landing Wilds but they’re not guaranteed. It’s a psychological barrier for me to pay that much money for so few spins and it’s hugely disproportionate cost-wise when it comes to buying 3 or 4 spins versus 5 spins.

And the whole thing has tainted my perception of the game because other than random Mad Re-spins and Cash Prizes, Free Spins is what it’s all about here.

You’ll need to decide if you’re OK with this. The stats are good and the game looks great, but I’m not gagging for more screen time with Cat Clans 2 Mad Cats slot.
