Cat's Meow Rush Express Slot Review
Do you know how every big franchise eventually tries a spin-off? Some of them absolutely flop (looking at you, Joey from Friends), while others somehow manage to stick the landing and become just as iconic as the original.🤩
Think The Mandalorian or Better Call Saul. It's always a gamble. Like, will it capture the magic of the original or end up as an awkward footnote?🦶 Well, in the world of slots, spin-offs are no different.
And let me tell you, Cat's Meow Rush Express slot from Quickfire is one of those rare spin-offs that nails it! Let's dive in, shall we?🏊
Gameplay
Cat's Meow Rush Express is the newest Rush Express game, which deviates from the train theme we've seen before. And as a cat lover, I don't mind that at all.
You play on 5-reels, 3-rows, and 20 active paylines to land winning combinations. The high-paying symbols include birds, toy mice, fishbowls, cat collars, and cartons of milk.
The Wild symbols are tins of fish that can substitute for all pay symbols except the Bonus, Bell, Gold Yarn, and Rush Express symbols.
The Bonus symbol is a cute ginger kitten that triggers Free Spins when it lands simultaneously in 3 positions. The Bell, Gold Yarn, and Rush Express symbols are all involved in the titular Rush Express Feature, so I'll cover all of them under the Features section below.
Unfortunately, this is a fiat currency-only game, except for the yen and ruble. You can wager between $0.20 and $50, and the 5,000x max multiplier can turn the top bet into the max win of $250,000. The RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. is 96.45%, and the game is classified as high volatility.
Features
FREE SPINS
As I mentioned, 3 adorable Bonus symbols award 10 Free Spins. You cannot retrigger this feature. The Rush Express feature occurs more frequently during Free Spins.
PICK AND CLICK
At the end of any base game spin, if a Coin symbol lands, it can trigger this feature. The reels are taken over by 12 Coin symbols that you pick, and the first 3 matching icons award their corresponding Jackpot prize.
RUSH EXPRESS
The Bell and Gold Yarn symbols only appear on reel 5. Whenever either symbol lands alongside at least 1 Rush Express symbol, this feature is triggered. If a Bell symbol lands, any Rush Express symbols on the reels are awarded.
If a Gold Yarn triggers this feature, all the Rush Express symbols on the reels are collected and moved to the top of the reels. The Gold Yarn rolls from left to right a random number of times, awarding the Gold Yarn's total up to 10 times.
The Rush Express symbols include a red, purple, blue, and green ball of yarn, as well as gold Coin symbols. They only appear on reels 1 to 4.
Each colored ball of yarn triggers a mini-game, where a random number of matching colored balls of yarn roll across the top of the reels and add their values to the ball of yarn on the reels.
The final colored ball of yarn can randomly award a multiplier or the corresponding color Jackpot.
JACKPOTS
There are 4 Jackpot prizes on offer. You can win any of them as a result of the matching colored ball of yarn or during the Pick and ClickPick & Click games present you with several options, in the form of items you need to select. Choosing an item will reveal what’s beneath – perhaps a cash prize or a Mystery symbol that can transform into something else. This format puts control in your hands. feature.
- The Mini Jackpot awards 20x your bet.
- The Minor Jackpot awards 50x your bet.
- The Major Jackpot awards 500x your bet.
- The Grand Jackpot awards 5,000x your bet.
Performance
I tested this game on my Android phone and gaming laptop and didn't encounter any issues switching between the 2 on multiple different browsers.
Maximum Win
The max win is $250,000, and you can stand to win it by betting the maximum in the range, which goes from $0.20 to $50, and hitting the game's max multiplier of 5,000x.
Conclusion
This is a high-volatility game, so prepare for some swings. The 20 active paylines provide ample opportunity for base game wins, but let's be real - the real action and the real potential for those big bucks lie squarely in the features.
The Rush Express feature is the star of the show here, living up to its name. Whether it's the Bell collecting those instant wins or the Gold Yarn rolling across the top of the reels for multiple payouts, this is where the excitement truly builds.
The mini-games within the colored yarn balls add a nice layer of anticipation, leading to multipliers or, even better, those sweet Jackpots.
Speaking of which, the Pick and ClickPick & Click games present you with several options, in the form of items you need to select. Choosing an item will reveal what’s beneath – perhaps a cash prize or a Mystery symbol that can transform into something else. This format puts control in your hands. feature, though randomly triggered, is another direct path to those Mini, Minor, Major, or even the Grand 5,000x Jackpot. That Grand Jackpot, paired with the $50 max bet, means a quarter-million-dollar payday is on the table.
Certainly enough to buy a lifetime supply of catnip.
The Free Spins round, while not re-triggerable, promises more frequent Rush Express triggers, which is precisely what you want in a high-volatility game like this. It's all about hitting those features to unlock the game's full potential.
While it's a shame about the limited currency options, the game performs flawlessly across devices, which is always a relief.
Ultimately, if you're a fan of high-volatility slots that pack a punch with their features, and you don't mind a bit of a wait for those big wins, Cat's Meow Rush Express is definitely worth a spin. And I do mean a wait.
It's charming, it's engaging, and most importantly, it has the potential to deliver some seriously impressive payouts. Just remember to keep a close eye on your bankroll while chasing those wins.
When stacking Cat's Meow Rush Express slot against its predecessors, Diamond Rush Express slot and Bullet Train Bandits slot, the core mechanics remain the same.
However, the experience varies wildly. Diamond Rush Express slot is, frankly, an eyesore with overly complicated features that don't quite deliver. Bullet Train Bandits slot was a significant visual upgrade, making it much more palatable.
But if you're looking for the best of the bunch, Cat's Meow Rush Express slot takes the crown.
