Cat’s Soup Slot Review

Things I’m grateful for:

  • Fake boobs 🏀🏀
  • Cashless payments (unless you’re stuck in Germany)
  • Not having to work in a coal mine ⛏️ from the age of 6 like my grandparents
  • That AI hasn’t taken over the world (yet)
  • Apostrophes and the possessive case 👀

I know you think the last one is weird, but it’s the difference between playing Cat Soup or Cat’s Soup slot (from BGAMING), if you catch my drift.

Gameplay

True to the title, this game has a cat stirring a cauldron of soup. The soundtrack sounds like waves at the ocean combined with some bubbles but whatever.

The 3-reel 3-row grid is superimposed on the cauldron and features symbols such as frogs, fish, and vegetables. Wilds replace all symbols and they do something else that’s magical, but you’ll read about that later.

The game has 5 paylines, an RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
that goes from 96.10% to 96.11%
(the variance is due to the Buy Bonus), and a medium volatility rate. The max multiplier is 8,000x, and the max win is an outstanding $400,000. Plus, there are no currency limitations.

BGaming’s feline slot looks incredible on a mobile device, and those beautifully rendered and bold controls make it easy to use while on the go.

Features

ALCHEMIST’S FIRE:

See that flask to the left of the screen with the multiplier value? And remember I said the Wild did something special? This is where the two elements come together.

Whenever a Wild hits the reels, the flask’s multiplier increases. It goes from 2x (the default) to 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, 64x, 128x, 256x, and 512x (sounds like we’re buying hard drives, here). If more than one Wild hits, the multiplier only increases by one step.

Whenever a Wild is part of a winning combo, the flask multiplier is applied to the win and then it’ll reset to 2x.

BONUS GAME:

With every 10 spins, the cat chooses a new recipe that includes three symbols. If they appear on the central, horizontal reel in the same order as the Cat chose them, that’s when you’ll trigger this pick-and-click round.

You’ll be taken to a new screen with 6 flasks floating above the cauldron, and the 3 symbols I mentioned floating above these.

Your job is to click on any 3 of them, and the flasks will reveal symbols with multiplier values. The multipliers are multiplied by each other and then they multiply your bet.

If a flask reveals the same symbols as those initial three, they’ll have higher multiplier values.

P.S.: Wilds can’t replace symbols during this feature.

BUY BONUS:

Pay 80x to immediately trigger the Bonus game.

Performance

Performance was stellar, and the game had no difficulties transitioning between browsers and devices.

Maximum Win

The max multiplier is 8,000x, the max win is $400,000, and betting ranges from $0.20 to $50.

Conclusion

Cat’s Soup slot’s hit rate is 2.1%, which translates into a win every 48 spins or so – that’s rough to say the least. Combine this with a medium volatility rate and you’ll clearly need an impressive bankroll to see you through the tough times. Wins are also limited due to only 5 active paylines.

But it’s not all doom and gloom, as the base game could see you score some truly wondrous progressive multipliers as part of the Alchemist’s Fire feature.

I’m not sure what the hit frequency is for the Bonus game, but it’s not gonna be high, as you need to land the exact same 3 symbols as in the Cat’s Recipe.

Given the difficulty in triggering wins and potentially, the progressive multipliers, the obvious strategy would be to occasionally dip into the Buy Bonus to make up for what will be a lot of painful dead spins.

Maybe it would be wise to start off with conservative bets for a while to give yourself a fighting chance, but looking at the stats, I’d say that this game is better avoided unless you’ve got enough bucks to see you through, and you’re an ardent risk taker.
