Cerberus Gold Slot Review
Cerberus, the fabled many-headed dog from Greek mythology, might have been the first casualty of a chokehold ever recorded. 🫁
Long before the UFC, Heracles (or Hercules, as you might know him) was tasked with capturing the beast. One version of events says he did so by using his lion 🦁 skin as a shield and “squeezing Cerberus around the head until he submitted.” Thanks, Wikipedia.
Duuuude! Forget Khabib Nurmagomedov and Khamzat Chimaev – none of those guys grappled a many-headed dog 🐶🐶🐶 that guards the gates to the Underworld. That sh*t is lit!
Now it’s time for us to get to grips with Cerberus Gold slot from Quickfire and hope we don’t end up in tears like Bob Sapp after Cro Cop got done with him. 😭
Gameplay
The Underworld looks a little different from what I was expecting. While I didn’t necessarily think it had to be all fire and brimstone like the Christian Hell, bubbling green slime was definitely not an image that sprung to mind.
Above the 5 reel grid are the 3 heads of our fabled hound, with each one representing one of the Lock ‘n’ Win features I’ll explain a little later.
To the left of the grid are 5 Jackpots: the Micro pays 10x your bet, the Mini pays 20x, the Minor pays 100x your bet, the Major pays 500x, and the Mega pays 5,000x.
The paylines range from 243 to 7,776, and while the $250,000 top prize doesn’t truly reflect or compensate for the game’s very high volatility rate, it’s not exactly a small amount, either.
The RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. tips the scales at 96.02%, the max multiplier is 5,000x, and you’ll need to play with fiat currency, with the exceptions being the yen and ruble.
Hit the SPIN button, and you’ll notice that there’s a horizontal reel above the regular ones. That reel contains Split symbols, which add up to 3 rows to a reel, which is why the paylines vary. Split symbols can also be carried over to the Lock ‘n’ Win feature.
The Wild symbol replaces all others except for Fireballs, Collect, and Split symbols. Fireball symbols can carry a value between 0.1x and 100x. Collect symbols, which land on reel 5, grab Fireballs and award their values as an instant win.
Souls are symbols with swirling blue colors and skulls that can boost multipliers by up to 10x. If you also land a Collect symbol, the boost will apply to all Fireballs (their multiplier values will reset to 1x after the next spin).
Features
LOCK ‘N’ WIN:
This feature is triggered by an orange, yellow, or pink Cerberus Coin. You’ll be awarded 3 re-spins, and all symbols other than Fireballs (which are locked in place) will be removed from the grid.
If a Jackpot Coin, Fireball, or Multiplier symbol lands on the reels, the spin counter is reset to 3. The feature ends when the spins run out or you fill all of the positions on the reels.
Multiply Lock ‘n’ Win:
This one is triggered when you collect an Orange Coin, and the active multiplier for the round starts at 2x. When a multiplier lands (it can have a value of 2x to 100x), its value is added to the Multiply Lock ‘n’ Win multiplier.
If a Fireball lands, the Fireball will be boosted by the current Multiply Lock ‘n’ Win multiplier.
Jackpot Lock ‘n’ Win:
You get into the Jackpot round when you collect a Yellow Coin. A Jackpot is awarded when the spaces of a Jackpot are complete: you need 6 spaces filled for a Mega Jackpot, 5 for a Major, 4 for a Minor, 3 for a Mini, and 2 for a Micro Jackpot.
Oh, and Jackpots are immune to being boosted by multipliers but you can win multiple Jackpots during the round.
Supreme Lock ‘n’ Win:
This variant is triggered by collecting a Pink Coin. During the round, Yellow Fireballs collect all Red Fireballs, and Purple Fireballs collect Red and Yellow Fireballs.
BUY BONUS:

Performance
I tested Cerberus Gold slot on a couple of devices and threw various browsers at the game, with none of the changes managing to unsettle it.
Maximum Win
A maximum bet of $50 (the least you can bet is $0.20) combined with a 5,000x multiplier equals a top payout of $250,000.
Conclusion
I’m pretty shocked at the low cost of the Buy Bonus options. The average Free Spins round costs 100x so 71.70x for a Multiply Jackpot Supreme Lock ‘n’ Win feature seems pretty damn sweet to me (even though you only start with 3 re-spins and there’s no guarantee of more).
I also ended up opting for the Jackpot Buy Bonus, coz 36.40x suits my T-Rex, arms-can’t-reach-my-wallet style even better.
Pear Fiction Studios has a distinctive design style, and they’ve created a couple of Lock ‘n’ Win games, so this isn’t new territory for them.
One of their previous versions is 3 Lucky Hippos slot, which is identical to our current game. You’ll get a Buy Bonus, Split symbols, as well as a Supreme, Multiplier, and Jackpot Lock ‘n’ Win offering the same values. So what that means is that Cerberus Gold slot is a reskin.

PaylinesPaylines are preset lines that run across the reels, and when you land matching symbols on them, that will result in a payout. The more paylines, the more ways you can win, but also the higher your bet per spin.: 243 to 7,776 ways to win
RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

Volatility RateSlot games can have low, medium, high, or extremely high volatility rates (or a combination thereof).
The less volatile the game, the more often it should pay out, but the lower the amount, the less the payout, as this is in keeping with the risk you’re taking. Volatility rate should be considered in conjunction with a game’s RTP.: Very high
