Chests of Gold: Power Combo Slot Review
Pick up any women’s magazine (do they even make those any more?) and you’ll inevitably read about power couples. They’ll cite Barack and Michelle Obama, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and Oprah and Stedman Graham.
Good for them, I say. Me, I’m a lone wolf kinda guy. I prefer not to wear underpants while watching The Simpsons (enjoy the visual) if I damn well feel like it. 🐺
But I’ll grudgingly admit that some things work better when you throw something else into the mix. I mean, a threesome just wouldn’t be the same without an extra body or two. 💦
Let’s check out Chests of Gold: Power Combo slot from Quickfire. It offers some upgrades from the solitary features we’ve come to expect.
Gameplay
When I read the title of this game, I wasn’t expecting to land in the middle of a forest with a Robin Hood theme going on. I was thinking possibly pirates but there you go; Quickfire has thrown us a curveball.
True to form, the design is super detailed and while it's busy on a mobile screen, it’s still playable thanks to the easily discernable symbols. Landscape mode lets it breathe a bit so if you want to take this game on the go, I’d recommend playing it this way.
The selling point – or at least one of them – is that you’ve got variable paylines (paylines increase during the Free Spins round), ranging from 40 to 100. The grid is a 5x4-styled one, and the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. hits the mark at 96.4%.
As for the volatility rate, that’s been set to high. As a result, winning the top prize on Chests of Gold: Power Combo slot means you’ll have scored yourself a sweet €233,000. That wouldn’t be bad for a day’s work!
All currencies are available so you can play with your favored crypto or fiat money.
The high-paying symbols are Robin Hood, Maid Marian, and presumably the Sheriff of Nottingham. I dunno; he doesn’t look very sheriff, but let’s go with that.
The Wild is of course a target with an arrow sticking out of it. Wilds replace all symbols other than Scatters or Coin symbols. You’ll see Wilds on reels 2 to 4. Scatters can trigger the Free Spin round offering 1 or more features.
Features
FREE SPINS:
Via the red chest Scatter:
The red chest Scatter gives you 5 Free Spins (you’ll only need to hit one of these special symbols) as well as nudging Wilds on 100 paylines. The increased paylines come as a result of the reels being extended by 2 positions.
Land at least 1 Wild symbol and the reel it’s on will nudge to fill the whole reel with Wilds. Hitting an additional red chest Scatter during the feature triggers extra spins.
Via the green chest Scatter:
The green chest Scatter brings 10 spins and a chance to score the Grand Jackpot. The object is to collect coin symbols which will flip to reveal a cash prize of 1x to 10x your bet. Alternatively, they could reveal a letter corresponding to one you’ll see on the Jackpots.
- Collect G, R, A, N, D to win the Grand Jackpot worth 10,000x
- Collect M, A, J, O, R to win the Major Jackpot worth 500x
- Collect M, I, N, O, R to win the Minor Jackpot worth 50x
- Collect M, I, N, I to win the Mini Jackpot worth 25x
This one triggers 5 spins with a multiplier of up to 10x. You’ll be randomly awarded a win multiplier on each spin with a value of 2x, 3x, 5x, or 10x. Landing an additional blue chest Scatter will award additional spins.
Combined Scatters:
Landing Scatters of different colors will award combined features:
- A red and blue Scatter = 5 spins with nudging Wilds and a line win multiplier
- A red and green Scatter = 10 spins with nudging Wilds and a Jackpot collection
- A blue and green Scatter = 10 spins with a line win multiplier and a Jackpot collection
If you like choice, then you’re going to LOVE this one! You’ve got 7 options under the Buy Bonus banner:
- Option 1: 20x your bet for Free Spins with nudging Wilds
- Option 2: 20x your bet for Free Spins with a line win multiplier
- Option 3: 45x your bet for Free Spins and a Jackpot collection
- Option 4: 55x your bet for Free Spins, nudging Wilds, and a line win multiplier
- Option 5: 65x your bet for Free Spins, nudging Wilds, and a Jackpot collection
- Option 6: 65x your bet for Free Spins, a line win multiplier, and a Jackpot collection
- Option 7: 100x your bet for Free Spins, nudging Wilds, a line win multiplier, and a Jackpot collection
Performance
Chests of Gold: Power Combo slot was mercifully glitch and error-free.
Maximum Win
There are some good numbers here: a 11,650x multiplier which, when combined at the max bet of €20, yields the €233,000 top prize.
Conclusion
Possibly the best feature this game offers is the Buy Bonus where you can mix and match based on how deep your pockets are. I mean, 7 options aren’t something you’ll typically see, which is cool, but of course, you must pay extra for this.
I also liked the fact that Quickfire offers a variety of Free Spin sub-features. Other than that, it’s a solid game with some good stats, so you can’t really go wrong.
