Dracula Riches Slot Review
Review nr. 35 of a Dracula themed slot. What is it with this dude? He's hung around for centuries in pop culture (normally upside down as a bat). Personally, I've never been a fan – I think he sucks. Cmon, let out a little chuckle - that was funny!
Thought it was a bit weak? Well, what about these:
What does Dracula fear most? Tooth decay.
What kind of ship does Dracula own? A blood vessel.
What gives Dracula heartburn? A stake sandwich.
Not even a snigger? You people are a tough audience! OK then, you asked for it, down to business: Dracula Riches is an eerie video slot created by Belatra Games to spook you on any device chosen. (It pretty much works on everything) I felt unnerved from the start – this was bloody scary! (Full disclosure: I am a coward of note – Scooby Doo specials have been known to freak me out.) There's some disturbing imagery that sets the scene for a night at this legendary vampire's castle. I ordered pasta with extra garlic to be delivered to my work desk and got ready to explore…
Dracula is a low volatility slot with 5 reels and 40 paylines. The symbols, apart from some face card letters, are all steeped in vampire lore: Dracula (complete with dripping blood) blond damsel, candle, coffin, garlic, stake, roses, a blue jewel and bat which is the wild. This wild can substitute for anything except the scatter which is the blue jewel. Players are greeted by the standard Belatra controls which, while intuitively designed, don't mix with the theme too well. Below the reels: Game Settings (including Paytable), Balance, Lines, Credits, Bet, Total Bet, Win, Max Bet, Start and Autostart. There's no Turb spin, so you'll have to jog away from Dracula at a leisurely pace.
After every winning spin in regular play, there's a Risk Game option in which you can wager your profits on a high card draw. If you'd prefer a simple card color choice option, then you can select that in Game Settings. 3 or more scatters anywhere and you get 10 Free Spins which are re-triggerable up to a maximum of 320 Free Spins! Interestingly enough, the Free Spins are played taking the top row of the reels out of play and decreasing the paylines to 20 – making things slightly more volatile and potentially rewarding.
Draculas Riches has graphics which fortunately are retro style, as a touch more realism and I may have soiled my pants. They're expertly rendered however, as too are the animations. Sound effects were a bit of a let down, while the music wasn't spooky, but did add to the excitement. Performance wise there were zero complaints or issues.
Draculas Riches in an atmospheric slot with a fascinating and rewarding Free Spins feature. Don't play it if you are of nervous disposition, or else you might find yourself looking over your shoulder frequently!
