Dragon Hot Slot Review

What do you get when you combine dragons and fruit? Dragonfruit. Well, that’s what you’d expect right? Yeah, me too. Turns out, EGT Interactive decided to go another way on Dragon Hot. Instead, we got a dragon-themed fruit slot that is perpetually confusing. Don’t get me wrong, I like both of those things, but they’re a rather strange combination. I would have thought of combining dragons and fire, or dragons and livestock, or, hell, dragons and Daenerys Targaryen. But no, EGT game developers decided to get a little creative with this slot and now here we are.

Gameplay

Dragon Hot is a 5-reel, 20-payline video slot powered by software from EGT Interactive. This is a hugely ambitious slot, so keep up with me. Symbols include all of the usual fruity suspects such as watermelon, cherries, lemons, grapes, dates, and oranges. Other symbols on the reel are lucky 7’s, four-leaf clovers, gold bells, dollar signs, and purple stars. There are two scatters in this game, to complement the two reels (more on that later), symbolized by the dollar sign and the purple star. The Wild is represented by the four leaf clover. EGT controls are always relatively simple, but here they are just in case you’re too distracted by the extra reel to work them out for yourself. From left to right: Balance display, sound toggle, information button, Auto Play, coin credit level, preset bets ranging from 20 to 400, and finally the display showing your last win.

Features

Boy, where to even get started. This game is just absolutely packed with features. The two most basic being the Gamble and Jackpot Cards Mystery features.

  • Gamble: Triggered after each winning round, it offers you the chance to double your wins. All you have to do is guess whether the next card to be drawn will be red or black. Guess correctly, and you’ll have doubled your winnings, but get it wrong, and you’ll be sent back to the base game without anything to show for your trouble.
  • Jackpot Cards Mystery: Represented by each of the four suits: diamonds, spades, clubs, and hearts, this feature offers you the chance to make some serious bank. All you have to do is choose 3 matching cards out of a pick-field of 12, and you’ll be awarded the corresponding jackpot.

Unique Features

Dragon Hot has 2 sets of reels. The main one has 5 paylines, while the 2nd set of is situated on the right side of the screen and comes with the 15 paylines. The sets of the reels can interact with the help of the dragons. Now, onto the other features:

  • The Dollar Symbol: the first scatter, which can appear on any reel. Landing 3 or more of these bad boys will award you with a prize larger than a dragon’s smile.

  • Star: Another Scatter symbol - although this guy can only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. Once 3 or more of them land, you’ll be awarded a payout.

  • Four-leaf Clover: This is probably the most significant icon in the Slot. It’s the Wild symbol, which can take the place of all other icons excluding the Scatters. Additionally, when appearing on reels 2&3, it will awake the dragons! Once you land one or more of these on the primary reels, they’ll become part of the second set. The dragon hovering above the respective set will awaken and will fly to the 2nd set of reels, he’ll then unleash a burst of flames from his nostrils and will fill the corresponding reels with four-leaf-clovers, thereby potentially resulting in more winning combos.

Performance

Dragon Hot offers a winning performance. Even my cold-blooded, reptilian heart found nothing to complain about. The graphics are fantastic, the gameplay is advanced but easy to use, and the soundtrack will transport you to a fantasy world. It’s also available on any device, which is just another little perk.

Conclusion

I know, I know; this review didn’t exactly get off to a good start, but I’m sure you’re shocked about where we landed up. Right? Either way, this is a must-see game. Everything about it is surprising, from the abundance of features to the outstanding graphics - it’ll really get your mind whirring. So give it a shot, what have you got to lose?
