Drop for Top Slot Review
Have you ever seen someone so committed to their fitness goals that they climbed a skyscraper? No? Well, neither have I—but apparently, Drop for Top slot from Playtech thinks it's totally normal🤷.
There's a fat guy just chilling next to the reels, presumably floating in the middle of the air. The only way he could have got there is by flying. There's no chance that the butter ball took the stairs. He's smiling smugly, so maybe he took the elevator🛗.
If this game is about dropping for the top, he might want to start with a salad and drop a few pounds🐖.
Gameplay
The Drop for Top slot has 5 reels set into the side of a skyscraper. By default, only the bottom 3 rows are active, and the 6 additional rows are empty. On a spin, stacks of 2 to 6 symbols drop in from the top, and if they connect with the bottom 3 reels, they activate.
This reel expansion is how the game offers 243 to 59,049 ways to win. Winning symbols are removed from the reels, allowing the symbols above to drop down to fill the gaps and new symbols to cascade in. The expanded reels reset between base game spins.
The high symbols include the fat guy and yellow, red, blue, and pink gems. The Wild is a gold filigree-decorated Wild symbol that can substitute for all the pay symbols except the Scatter.
The Scatter is a gold dollar symbol that can trigger Free Spins when 3 or more land. The RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. is 95.91% in the base game and 95.94% during Free Spins.
This is a fiat currency-only, high-volatility game with a 2,919x max multiplier. You can bet between $0.10 and $75; the most you can win here is $218,925.
On mobile, the game forgoes the fat guy standing to the left of the reels and cityscape background, so only the reels take up the screen. The game plays great in portrait mode.
Features
FREE SPINS
You're awarded 6 Free Spins when you trigger this feature. During Free Spins, the stacks that connect with the default rows don't reset between spins and persist until the end of the feature. Unfortunately, you cannot win any additional Free Spins.
BUY BONUS
You can skip the base game and trigger Free Spins on the following spin for 38x your bet.
Performance
This game worked better than the fat dude's heart. I didn't encounter any issues during my playthrough.
Maximum Win
The bets range from $0.10 to $75, and if you wager the highest bet and hit the game's highest possible multiplier of 2,919x, you can win this game's best possible win of $218,925.
Conclusion
As much as I like this game, the max multiplier is puny, so you must bet pretty high for a shot at the top prize. The number of Free Spins you're awarded is also stingy.
Heart's Bounty Blitz slot offers up to 10 Free Spins, and thanks to the 10,645x max multiplier, you only need a $20 bet to try for its very similar $212,900 top prize.
That being said, this game's Buy Bonus is considerably cheaper than most other games. However, if you're betting high, it's not so affordable. And there is always the risk that your investment won't pay off.

Volatility RateSlot games can have low, medium, high, or extremely high volatility rates (or a combination thereof).
The less volatile the game, the more often it should pay out, but the lower the amount, the less the payout, as this is in keeping with the risk you’re taking. Volatility rate should be considered in conjunction with a game’s RTP.: High
