Drops of Water Slot Review

I grew up in Cape Town (South Africa), and still live here. It’s a pretty cool city, with tons of stuff to do and some of the best landscapes you’ll ever see.

But there are problems too. If you’re even vaguely familiar with the place, you probably heard about the drought we had a few years ago.

It got so bad that we thought we were going to be the first major city in the world to run out of water. But thanks to Capetonians pulling together to fight it, we managed to avoid that outcome.

Which isn’t to say that it wasn’t hard. I don’t know about you, but only being able to shower for 5 minutes every 2 days, and having to collect said shower water, is not my personal favorite.

Oh, and don’t even get me started on the cringe “if it’s yellow let it mellow, if it’s brown flush it down,” signs on every toilet door. That was a particularly repulsive phase for us too.

So yeah, water access is a problem! And it’s something Amusnet Games (formerly EGT) is trying to raise awareness about with their new Drops of Water slot. Let’s take a look.

Gameplay

The first thing you should know about this game is that Amusnet has committed to donating 3% of its NGR (Net Game Revenue - there’s some jargon for you) to building wells in developing countries around the world. That’s pretty neat!

And it’s obviously African-themed as a result, which typically doesn’t do it for me, but this slot is quite respectful in its depiction of the continent – a breath of fresh air, particularly in comparison to a lot of African-themed slots I usually see.

The graphics are solid, both on a mobile and desktop device. However, I’d recommend playing it in portrait mode on a mobile device to experience the full optimization.

The stats are pretty decent here too, with the volatility rate set to medium and the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
coming in at 96.62%. Betting starts at €0.20 and goes up to €40, which is what you’ll need to stake if you want to land the €112,080 (courtesy of the 2,802x multiplier).

Unfortunately, players can only bet using Euro, US dollars, Norwegian krone, New Zealand dollars, Brazilian real, and Russian rubles. No cryptocurrencies are accepted.

Features

WILD

The Wild can appear on reels 2, 3, and 4, and will substitute for all symbols except the Bonus.

WATER DROPS RE-SPINS

Landing 5 or more Bonus symbols triggers the Water Drops Re-spins round. During this feature, all Scatters turn into Water Drops, and each one of those symbols has an amount displayed on it that can be won.

All Water Drop symbols lock in place, and 3 re-spins are triggered. If more Water Drop symbols land, then the round is re-triggered.

After the end of the round, the value of all the Water Drop symbols are added together and paid out.

JACKPOT CARDS

Jackpot Cards is a four-level bonus feature, with each level represented by a different card suit. The first level is clubs, the second is diamonds, the third is hearts, and the fourth (and highest) is spades.

Any of the levels can be won during this bonus round, which is randomly triggered after a winning spin. It’s played on a different screen showing 12 facedown cards.

You’ll need to choose 3 matching card suits to receive the corresponding prize.

Performance

I tested Drops of Water slot out on my mobile and desktop devices, and it didn’t give me any problems. It’s also good to go on the browser of your choice, so go wild.

Maximum Win

I’d say that €112,080 is a good boost for your bankroll, especially for a medium-volatility slot. Set your bet to €40, and land the 2,802x multiplier to win it.

Conclusion

Okay, so this isn’t the most exciting slot, but it’s for a good cause! Nice of Amusnet to take us third-world citizens into consideration, although I’ll admit that I’ve never personally had to tap into a well for my daily 2 liters of water.

With that said, Drops of Water slot is definitely on the basic side of things. The features are simple, and there aren’t any fancy mechanisms going, so if you’re looking for something to get the heart racing, this probably won’t do the trick.
