Eastern Emeralds Megaways Slot Review
We all like to hedge our bets, right? Well, according to esoteric belief, placing an emerald under your tongue will allow you to see into the future. And the green stones are also said to be able to cure diseases, ward off evil spirits, and even help you de-stress.
Let’s face it; I’m not exactly swimming in emeralds, so I will have to rely on Eastern Emeralds Megaways slot from Quickspin to bolster my fortunes.
Let’s see how that plays out.
Gameplay
This Asian-themed game is a joy to behold. Now, I know it’s not innovative from a design perspective, but you still have to give the studio its due for the painstaking craftsmanship that went into this beauty.
And just do yourself a favor: load this bad boy on your phone and tell me it’s not epic. The design lends itself well to portrait mode, and the controls make for easy one-handed play (get your mind out of the gutter).
While Eastern Emeralds Megaways slot might seem all cutesy and innocent, the stats reveal some serious intent. For starters, there are up to 16,807 ways to win here. The RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. clocks in at a respectable 96.04%, and the volatility rate has been set to high.
Unfortunately, Quickspin has limited the top prize to €147,216. That’s not a small amount of money, but when viewed in conjunction with the volatility rate, it’s like half of what I was expecting.
Before we move on to the features, my last note is that the game only accepts fiat currency.
Features
MULTIPLIER WILDS:
You’ll see these symbols on reels 2 to 5, and they replace all symbols other than the Scatter. If you score a win involving 2 or more Multiplier Wilds, then their multipliers will be multiplied.
FREE SPINS:
The Scatter Bonus symbol is a phoenix, and 3 or more will initiate the Free Spins round. When this round starts, you’ll be given a choice between 4 options:
6 Free Spins and 5x, 6x, 7x, and 8x Wilds
9 Free Spins and 4x, 5x, 6x, and 7x Wilds
12 Free Spins and 3x, 4x, 5x, and 6x Wilds
15 Free Spins and 2x, 3x, 4x, and 5x Wilds
Straight after making that decision, you’ll be given the option to gamble your Free Spins. What that means is you’ll be faced with a wheel of fortune type contraption with 2 koi fish on it.
Choose the correct fish and you double your spins. If you click on the wrong koi, you lose all your spins.
BUY BONUS:
If you don’t possess Buda-esque patience, you can buy your way into the Free Spins round for the price of 90x your bet. You’ll get 3 Scatters and the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. will increase to 96.29%.
Performance
I have nothing to complain about regarding this game’s performance. It didn’t make a difference if I was playing on my laptop or phone, or using Safari or Chrome, so you should be able to play as and when you like.
Maximum Win
So, the €147,216 max win is a bit of a letdown, but I wouldn’t throw it back at Quickspin if I were lucky enough to win it. And at least they’ve got a 17,422x multiplier doing the heavy lifting.
You’ll need to sustain your bet at €10 if you want a shot at the top prize. If not, then start betting at €0.20 or anything in-between.
Conclusion
Eastern Emeralds Megaways slot is a solid offering, with some decent stats to back it up, and offering great mobile play.
This game is an improvement on the previous version, which didn’t have the Megaways mechanic. It’s a huge step up in terms of design, as the OG didn’t look all that great, especially with its god-awful controls.
For me, it feels like Quickspin has hit on a good combination and it didn’t feel like anything was missing. Players who like Asian-themed games could do worse than giving this one a go.
