Firestorm Joker Slot Review

You ever stop and think about how the jester – the actual human adult – got away with prancing around in velvet tights and jangly bells on his head 🤡… and somehow became a casino icon?

Like, this was a legit job. Imagine showing up at your 9-to-5, doing backflips while your hat jingles like a cat toy, and getting paid in turkey legs and mild applause 😥.

And yet, centuries later, here we are 🤦 – still immortalizing these glitter-clown weirdos in digital form.

Case in point: Firestorm Joker slot from Zillion. It’s yet another addition to the ever-growing shrine of creepy court jesters 🕯️ who apparently want nothing more than to take your money…

Gameplay

By now, we all know the drill – if a game’s got “Joker” in the name, there’s gonna be a Joker in it. No surprises there.

But what is surprising is how these Jokers keep getting uglier. Like, every new slot is one step closer to starring a rejected extra from AHH! Real Monsters.
As expected, this one gives us a classic setup: 3 reels, 3 rows, and a full lineup of throwback symbols – BARs, 7s, Bells, Cherries, and the rest of the fruit salad gang.
The Wild is, of course, the Joker himself. He substitutes for all symbols except the special ones: Coins, Jackpot Coins, and Boost Coins.

And trust me, without those special coins in play – especially in the Hold and WinThis feature plays out on a new screen. Typically, you get 3 re-spins (which could be re-triggered), and the triggering symbols usually stick to the position on which they land. Your objective is to land as many symbols as possible on the grid (you could land blank tiles, too). feature, there’d be no game. They’re the only thing worth your while here. But I’ll put my brutal honesty aside for now…

Here are the numbers: the maximum win is $179,025, and maximum multiplier is 5,250x. The game has 5 paylines, a 96.2% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
and very high volatility.

Features

RANDOM WILD FEATURE

At any point in the game, the Random Wild Feature can activate. When it does, a bunch of Wild symbols get tossed onto the reels, helping increase your chances of creating winning combinations.

The number of Wilds that can drop is not detailed by the provider, unfortunately. But hey, we could all use a little mystery in our lives, right?

BOOST FEATURE

The game calls it the Boost Feature. I call it “Coin Collecting with Extra Drama.”
Gold Coins land on the reels with random values (how random? Nobody’s telling us). But those coins are just decoration unless a red Boost Coin lands alongside them.

Only then do all visible coin values get collected and paid out.

Among Gold Coins, Jackpot Coins can drop too – each carrying a fixed prize. If the Boost Coin shows up when they do, you could be looking at a serious payout:

  • Mini – 25x

  • Minor – 50x

  • Major – 150x

  • Grand – 1,000x

So, yeah, no Boost Coin? No coins. But if that red-hot hero lands, it could turn spare change into a jackpot.

ACCUMULATION FEATURE

Look, I’m gonna be real – this “feature” feels more like a rumor than a game mechanic. But let’s break it down anyway…

During gameplay, Coin symbols supposedly don’t vanish. Instead, they’re “stored” in the game’s logo on the top-left of the reels.

You’ll see a tiny animation of coins being directed there, with a little flickering line –because apparently, that’s our accumulation meter.

Except it’s not a meter. There’s zero indication of what’s in there, how many coins are stored, or if it’s even a working tool.

Anyway, at some mysterious point, the Accumulation Feature can randomly kick in. When it does, it drops a bunch of coin symbols onto the reels to guarantee you have enough to trigger the Hold and WinThis feature plays out on a new screen. Typically, you get 3 re-spins (which could be re-triggered), and the triggering symbols usually stick to the position on which they land. Your objective is to land as many symbols as possible on the grid (you could land blank tiles, too). feature.

I played for a while and never saw it happen. I eventually triggered Hold and WinThis feature plays out on a new screen. Typically, you get 3 re-spins (which could be re-triggered), and the triggering symbols usually stick to the position on which they land. Your objective is to land as many symbols as possible on the grid (you could land blank tiles, too). the old-fashioned way – by landing coins on the reels.

Long story, short. If this “feature” wasn’t in the game description, I wouldn’t be wasting my breath about it. It’s a logo. That’s it (and I’m always willing to be proven otherwise).

HOLD AND WIN

To trigger the Hold and WinThis feature plays out on a new screen. Typically, you get 3 re-spins (which could be re-triggered), and the triggering symbols usually stick to the position on which they land. Your objective is to land as many symbols as possible on the grid (you could land blank tiles, too)., you’ll need at least one coin symbol (of any kind) to land on each reel.

Once triggered, you start with 3 respins. During the feature, if a Wild Joker lands, it places a multiplier on the exact cell it landed on – and that multiplier sticks for the rest of the feature round.

If the Joker lands on that same spot again, the multiplier increases, following this order: 3x, 4x, 5x and 10x.

Every time a coin lands on a cell with a multiplier, its value is multiplied.

But here’s where it gets even better: there’s a Boost Coin on every spin… It collects the value of all new coins (including Jackpot Coins), pays them out, and then wipes the grid clean – for the next re-spin.

Each time a new coin or Joker Wild lands, your re-spins reset back to 3. So yeah – there’s plenty of potential for things to heat up fast and last a good while.

Performance

No complaints here – the game runs smoothly with quick load times, responsive spins, and no lag.

Maximum Win

Sure, the Joker might look like he lost a bet with a plastic surgeon based on those unfortunate ears, but he’s still got the last laugh… Dishing out wins of up to $179,025, or 5,250x your bet.

And, speaking of bets, you can choose to wager anywhere between $0.12 and $34.10.

Conclusion

Look, when a game gives you very high volatility, no Buy Bonus option, and a simple 3x3 grid to work with… it’s basically daring you to be bored.

And guess what? Challenge accepted. Mission accomplished. This one’s half-baked at best.

The only thing with any real weight is the Hold and WinThis feature plays out on a new screen. Typically, you get 3 re-spins (which could be re-triggered), and the triggering symbols usually stick to the position on which they land. Your objective is to land as many symbols as possible on the grid (you could land blank tiles, too). feature, and even that feels like waiting for a bus in a town that doesn’t believe in buses. You might trigger it. Someday.

As far as classic-style games go, this one’s a flop for me. If you want something that actually makes sense in 2025, check out Jewelling Diamonds slot from Iron Dog Studio instead.

It's got the same volatile vibes, but with a real bite – 5 reels, 4 rows, a Buy Bonus, Free Spins, Jackpots and a 10,000x max win to keep things interesting.

Because if we’re gonna suffer for our spins, they better at least sparkle.

Volatility RateSlot games can have low, medium, high, or extremely high volatility rates (or a combination thereof).

The less volatile the game, the more often it should pay out, but the lower the amount, the less the payout, as this is in keeping with the risk you’re taking. Volatility rate should be considered in conjunction with a game’s RTP.
