Fish 'Em Up Slot Review
At first glance, my boyfriend doesn't seem like the type of guy who would be into fishing. He's a bleach-blond, buzzcut-sporting, tattooed musician who is only nice to me, and yet he loves fishing.
It's a bit puzzling because in my mind, these two worlds don't align. Of course, we are all multifaceted individuals, but fishing? Really? I just can't figure it out.
Personally, I have never seen the appeal, especially growing up as a vegetarian with hippie parents. Although I now eat meat, the idea of hunting it for myself (yes, I know it's a double standard) just grosses me out.
I have been dragged on a few of these obligatory fishing trips before, and I have ended up in tears every single time. The poor fishies! They didn't ask to be born.
But hopefully, today's Fish 'Em Up slot from Quickfire will bring smiles instead of tears. Let's dive in.
Gameplay
Quickfire has built a reputation for releasing charming games with fun cartoonish styles. It seems that Fish 'Em Up slot is another addition to this lineup, alongside titles such as Tippy Tavern slot (which you'll be able to read about soon 😉).
In this game, you have the opportunity to catch fish prizes during the base round, and the 1UP symbol will increase the multiplier leading up to your next cash. The multiplier can reach up to 10x during the bonus round and never resets. There's more to this, but I'll expand on it later.
There are various paying symbols, but they all take a back seat when you consider the range of special symbols available. The Wild, for example, can appear on any reel and substitutes for any of the paying symbols. There's also a Cash Fish symbol and a Collect symbol.
This game is fully compatible with mobile devices thanks to the use of HTML5 technology. It can be played on smartphones, tablets, and desktops. I would recommend playing in portrait mode on a mobile device, but the choice is yours.
Fish 'Em Up slot has a 96.11% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate., high volatility, and a maximum multiplier of 5,000x your bet. With bet limits ranging from €0.20 to €50, you can land a top win of €250,000, in any fiat currency (excluding Japanese yen).
Features
CASH FISH
The Cash Fish symbols have different prize values ranging from 0.2x to 50x your bet per symbol. However, to collect these prizes, you also need the Fisherman Collect symbol to land on the reels. If this symbol is present, it will gather all the fish prize symbols, and you will win the total sum of them.
CATCH BOOSTER
The Catch Booster starts with a multiplier of 1x and can increase up to 10x. To increase this multiplier, you need to have a 1UP symbol in view, and each 1UP symbol you land will increase the multiplier by 1+. The Catch Booster enhances your next fish prize collection win and then resets back to 1x again during regular gameplay.
FREE SPINS
Fishing boat Scatters can land on reels 1, 3, and 5, and you need to have 3 of them in view to activate 10 Free Spins. The Catch Booster carries over into the bonus round, and the 1UP symbol can still upgrade it as it does in regular gameplay.
Whenever you reach a Catch Booster multiplier of 4x, 7x, or 10x, you also receive an additional 5 Free Spins each time. The multiplier remains active throughout the entire bonus round, and you have the option to purchase the bonus round for 70x your bet.
JACKPOT BONUS SPINS
If you land a fish symbol with an overlay shell symbol attached, it triggers the Bonus Feature. This grants you 3 bonus spins on an empty grid, and the number of spins resets each time you land either a fish or prize symbol in view.
During the Bonus Feature, you have the chance to win the Mini, Midi, Maxi, or Mega prizes, which are worth 30x, 100x, 500x, or 5,000x your bet, respectively.
Performance
I tested Fish 'Em Up slot on my iPhone 13 and MacBook Pro, and it worked perfectly on both. Quickfire has done a fantastic job of ensuring that this slot is ready to go, regardless of the device, browser, or operating system you use.
Maximum Win
Landing the maximum multiplier of 5,000x with your bet set to the maximum will earn you the top win of €250,000.
Conclusion
Fish 'Em Up slot is incredibly entertaining. It allows you to increase the fish prize collection multiplier even in the base game. This means that not landing the Collector symbol frequently can work in your favor, making the base game more engaging.
The special features are equally impressive, and the chance to win jackpots is always a plus. It's optimized for mobile devices, so you can play on the go and have the opportunity to win the €250,000 max prize wherever you are.
You don't want to miss out on Quickfire's new slot. Give it a spin.
