Fishing Floats of Cash Slot Review

Tales of sea monsters are a dime a dozen but how’s this for a weird one? In 1808, in Scotland, a large globster (an unidentified organic mass) washed ashore on the island of Stronsay.

The carcass was said to measure 36 ft to 55 ft in length (reports vary) and the sight of it must’ve filled a few breeches as it was said to have three “paws” or “wings” and its fins were edged with bristles.

The bristles on its back glowed in the dark when wet, and the creature’s stomach contents were red. An anatomist later reckoned it was the remains of a decaying basking shark, but no one can be certain what it really was.

Jesus. That’s the stuff of nightmares! Fishing Floats of Cash slot from Quickfire doesn’t offer up any nightmarish creatures though, only bass (I don’t know my fish so I’m not going to try to categorize the other ones) and moolah. That sounds like a far better option!

Gameplay

My philosophy is: if you’re gonna make a fishing game, at least make it look good. Quickfire clearly doesn’t share the same ideals as me, coz this ain’t the prettiest game I’ve ever seen.

The 5-reel grid has been dumped on top of a lake background, and there’s a spinning wheel that they’ve linked visually to a fishing reel that bulges out to the side. Atop the reels are the three Jackpots (I’ll get into the deets below), and that’s about it.

The one positive thing about the design (and there is only one) is that the game works in either portrait or landscape mode on a smaller device.

There are 25 paylines here, and an RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
of 96%. This medium volatility slot boasts a max win worth €200,000 so design be damned; this little tidbit has suddenly made the game worth a look.

But before we get into the meat and bones, I need to mention that neither cryptocurrency nor Japanese yen are accepted. All other forms are good to go.

As for the symbols, the Wild is our fisherman and you’ll find him on reels 2 to 5 and he can appear stacked on reels 1 to 4.

He replaces all symbols other than the fishing floats, the Bonus, and the Trigger symbol (the bucket). Other symbols include a pelican, a hat, and a can of beer.

Features

FREE SPINS:

Landing 3 or more Scatters – which appear on reels 2 to 4 –gets you 10 spins, and they can be re-triggered.

EXPRESS COLLECT:

Fishing floats come with a range of values, and besides landing those, you could also win a Mini (20x your bet) or a Major Jackpot (400x your bet). The prizes are instantly awarded when you land one of these symbols along with a water bucket Trigger on reel 5.

WHEEL BONUS:

Land a Bonus symbol on reel 1, along with a Trigger symbol on reel 5, and you’ll get to spin the wheel. There are a bunch of wedges on the wheel – including the Major, Minor, and Mega Jackpot (5,000x your bet), along with 2x, 5x, and 10x multipliers.

There are also 2 wedges that’ll take you to the Link&Win feature.

LINK&WIN:

You’ll go under the water when this feature starts, and you can clinch cash prizes (from 1x to 200x your bet) or the Mini or Minor Jackpots.

When the feature kicks off, you’ll get 3 re-spins and the Trigger, Link&Win symbols, and the wheel Bonus are all held on the reels. The remaining positions will spin and any extra Link&Win symbols that land become sticky and reset the spin counter to 3.

The feature ends when no spins are left or you’ve filled all 15 positions with Link&Win symbols. In the latter case, you’ll be awarded the Mega Jackpot.

Performance

I played Fishing Floats of Cash slot on my laptop, phone, and tablet and didn’t experience a single issue. You can also rock it using your favorite browser – whichever one you go for won’t affect the performance at all.

Maximum Win

This is what I like to see: a medium volatility game with a €200,000 purse! Look, the max multiplier isn’t huge – at 5,000x – but I’ll take it. The betting range starts at €0.25 and hits its cap at €40.

Conclusion

Fishing-themed slots don’t do it for me – I just wanted to get this out in the open – and this game is hit-and-miss for me.

Visually, the game is weak, but the max win is excellent and there’s enough happening to keep your ADD at bay for a while. Having said that, there’s a lot of overlap between the features.

For example, you can win Jackpots during the Link&Win feature, the Express Collect feature, or the Wheel Bonus – the only difference is that the Mega isn’t available during Express Collect.

I guess it’s not a bad thing, because rather than presenting the same Bonus round all the time, at least there’s variety here.

My final verdict is that Fishing Floats of Cash slot is a good enough option if you’re into Hold & Win games and you’re a fan of the theme. There are enough variations out there if casting a line ain’t your thing.
