Game of Gladiators: Uprising Slot Review

If you’ve watched the movie Gladiator, you’ll recall that Joaquin Phoenix played Commodus, an emperor who loved to joust in the arena. The mad ruler is said to have fought 735 times – mainly against animals, but also against gladiators.

Of course, no one in their right mind would harm the emperor, so all his fights were clearly rigged – sometimes blatantly as in the next example.

Commodus once ordered a bunch of injured citizens to be tied together and then clubbed them into the next world. Charming fellow, wouldn’t you say?

The fighting emperor in Game of Gladiators: Uprising slot from Play’n GO is called Gaius, and while the action isn’t quite so brutal (thank the gods), there’s nonetheless action galore.

Gameplay

Can you hear it? Can you hear the roar of the crowds as they bay for blood? This is the arena, baby, and it’s live or die right here!

Play'n Go has created a setting that’s okay but not particularly stunning. I preferred the look of the game in portrait mode on my tablet and phone, and that’s because the grid takes up more of the screen.

Landscape mode on a tablet and laptop is sweet, though on a phone, not so much.

This medium-volatility game offers 30 fixed paylines and an RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
of 96.2%. The max win on offer is a decent €180,000.

If you want in on the blood and gore, you’ll have to play in fiat (as long as it's not Japanese yen), as crypto isn’t accepted.

There are three gladiators in this game, which also happen to be the Wild Scatter symbols – one is Spartacus, the other is Bellica, and the last is Emperor Gaius.

Wild Scatters can replace all symbols and trigger a feature.

Features

GLADIATOR’S OATH:

Whenever a gladiator drops onto the reels, that’s when a re-spin will be triggered:

Legion Slash: Spartacus brings 3 to 5 Wild Scatters to the grid
Full Strike: Bellica brings 1 or 2 Expanding Wild Scatters to the reels
Emperor Strike: Gaius adds 2 or 3x2 multiplier Wild Scatters to the mix

Sadly, landing a subsequent gladiator won’t initiate a further re-spin.

CHAMPIONS OF THE ARENA:

This feature is set off when you simultaneously land 2 gladiators on the reels. At the start of the round, you’ll be asked to choose the fighter you think will win the battle, and you’ll win a 5x bonus if you choose correctly.

During the round, you’ll see the two gladiators duking it out (each gladiator has 3 lives). The Free Spins continue until you win or lose the battle, which means you can score up to 100 spins!

If you collect 5 of the same gladiators, it’ll trigger a re-spin. Each gladiator brings a modifier with it and a random multiplier that could be 2x, 5x, 10x, or 50x.

OK, so how is a win or loss determined? Each re-spin decreases the other gladiator’s life, so you’ll need to kill off all 3 lives to emerge the victor.

If both gladiators lose their lives simultaneously, the Guess the Victor feature is awarded. In other words, your chosen gladiator will win.

Performance

I tested this game’s mettle by throwing hundreds of rounds its way, and in all that time, it didn’t cause any hassles on any of my devices.

Maximum Win

Betting starts at a super small €0.05 (nice for newbies or casual players) and is capped at €30. The highest max win you can score is 6,000x and if you do the math, that means the top prize comes in at €180,000.

Conclusion

I do likes me some gladiatorial action, and I enjoyed the animations where the two warriors battled it out. It would’ve been nice if the graphics were a bit crisper and more detailed, but it’s not the end of the world.

The good things about Game of Gladiators: Uprising slot come in the form of Expanding Wilds, the modifiers that each gladiator brings to the party, and the potential for up to 100 Free Spins.

It’s not an earth-shattering game but it is decent and the stats it’s based on are solid.
