George’s Gold Slot Review
Growing up and living on a tropical coast, you spend a lot of time barefoot on the beach or around a pool, and you see a lot of feet.
One dude we hung out with, George, had such disgusting-looking feet that it became a point of reference for how gross something was. If something was truly heinous, you would call it “George’s big toe”.
George’s one big toe was flat and round like a dinner plate. The nail was yellow and long, and there was always some mysterious black substance under it and around the edges of the nail. You didn’t want to go in the same water as that toe.
He would sneak up behind you while you were sitting and push that disgusting digit into your face. You could sometimes get away before it got too close because you could smell it coming.
Thankfully, George’s Gold slot from Quickfire hasn’t got a smell.
Gameplay
George’s Gold slot is mining-themed, so the high-paying symbols are a minecart full of gold, a wheelbarrow filled with gems, a bucket with a spade and pickaxe inside, and an old lantern.
Playing this slot on your phone is great; the game grid is smaller and suits smaller screen sizes. The game controls sit under the grid and are easy to tap when playing one-handed and on the go.
To create a win, you need to land 3 or more matching symbols on one of the 20 paylines.
This is one of Quickfire’s Link & Win feature games, which I’ll expand on under the features section.
George’s Gold slot has a 96.21% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.. The betting starts at as little as €0.20 and goes up to €25.
The best multiplier you can get is 10,000x, and if you’re betting the max, you could end up with the game’s maximum win of €250,000! Which is pretty darn high for a medium-volatility slot.
There are unfortunately no crypto currencies allowed, but any fiat currency will do.
Features
WILD
The Wild symbol is George himself, shirtless and wearing a mining helmet, and it can substitute for all paying symbols except the TNT, time bomb, and Link & Win symbols. The Wilds also only appear on reels 2 – 5.
EXPANDED REELS FEATURE
If you land a TNT symbol on reels 1 and 2, reels 3, 4, and 5 expand to 5 rows high for that spin.
You can also land up to 5 Link & Win symbols, which trigger what the game calls Express Collect, and you’re awarded the sum of the cash values the Link & Win symbols carry.
You only need to land one more Link & Win symbol on reels 1 and 2 at this point to trigger the Link & Win game.
Reels 3, 4, and 5 reset to normal size after every spin.
FREE SPINS
The Scatter symbol in George’s Gold slot is a dynamite time bomb symbol. To start the round, you need to land 3 or more Scatter symbols to be awarded 10 Free Spins.
During the Free Spins, only high-paying symbols are displayed on reels 1, 2, 4, and 5. Wild and Link & Win symbols appear only on reel 3. If you land 3 Link & Win symbols on the 3rd reel, they’re duplicated on reels 2 and 4, and you trigger the Link & Win Feature.
You can only trigger Free Spins in the base game and Expanded Reels Features.
LINK & WIN FEATURE
To trigger this feature, you need to land 6 or more of the Link & Win symbols.
The Link & Win symbol in George’s Gold slot is a gold nugget, which can carry a random multiplier value of 1x – 9x your current bet, or the words “Major”, “Minor”, or “Mini” that correspond to the game’s big prizes.
- Major Prize: 1,000x your current bet
- Minor Prize: 50x your current bet
- Mini Prize: 10x your current bet
You start the feature with 3 Re-spins. All the triggering Link & Win symbols are sticky and remain on the grid until the end of the round.
The positions without Link & Win symbols spin individually. Any additional Link & Win symbols that land are sticky as well and reset the Re-spins to 3.
The feature ends when you run out of Re-spins or you fill the grid with Link & Win symbols, in which case you’re awarded the Mega Prize of 10,000x your current bet.
The Mega Prize is added to the sum of all the Link & Win symbols, and you’re returned to the base game.
Performance
I had no issues with this slot on my Windows laptop or Android phone. I’m obviously having a good day with my Internet connection.
Maximum Win
You can bet as little as €0.20 with plenty of options up to €25, which, when paired with the top multiplier of 10,000x, awards the game’s maximum prize of €250,000.
Conclusion
Being a medium-volatility game, you can win smaller amounts fairly often if luck is on your side on George’s Gold slot. Although triggering the main features, namely the Free Spins and Link & Win, or Expanded reels, takes a long time.
Once you do trigger one of these games, though, in my experience the medium volatility plays in your favor, even if it’s short-lived, since retriggering them anytime soon is unlikely. However this might differ in your game.
Again, medium-volatility games don’t often boast a maximum multiplier of 10,000x.
To sum up, this game won’t blow your socks off, and the base game can be dull with no interesting features.
