Hot Potato Slot Review
I’m wearing fur pajamas
*I ride a hot potato *
It’s tickling your fancy
Speak up, I can’t hear you
Here on this mountain top, oh-oh-oh
I got some wild, wild life
The Talking Heads must’ve had a premonition about Hot Potato slot from Thunderkick – well, other than the fur pajamas thing, which is all kinds of disturbing. But they were on the money with the Wilds and steaming spuds. 🥔🍟
So here’s a fun fact about the band: Lead singer David Byrne once shaved his beard onstage, using beer as shaving foam. It didn’t work out so well; apparently, it resulted in a lot of facial bleeding. Ouch! 🍺🪒
Gameplay
Oh yeah, get down! Turn up the volume people, and let the sweet grooves get your foot a-tappin’ like you’ve got Restless Legs Syndrome. Or is that just me?
Hot Potato slot finds its home downtown, with taxis and skyscrapers and while the level of detail is truly impressive, I think the city is a little too clean to be realistic, don’t you? But I’m just being facetious; Thunderkick has done a wicked job.
I also love the vibrant colors and the 7x7-reel grid grabs your attention with both hands in a chokehold of awesomeness.
Hit the SPIN button and you’ll realize that the game uses a Cluster PaysUnlike traditional paylines, Cluster Pays can award wins when a minimum number of matching symbols land adjacent to each other (vertically or horizontally), forming a cluster. system – newbies, that means you’ll get paid if you land 5 or more of the same symbols (other than Scatters, in this case) anywhere on the reels and they’re connected horizontally or vertically.
The win amount depends on how many identical symbols you’ve nailed. Also, winning symbols get removed and initiate the Avalanche feature; that’s where new symbols fall into the recently vacated spots. Hopefully, that will trigger additional wins.
The largest amount you can take home in Hot Potato slot is €200,000 – which is a lot but arguably not as much as other games with very high volatility rates. Oh well, it’ll do me just fine. The RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. is 96.16% and the max multiplier is 10,000x.
Currency-wise, fiat money is the way to go but not the Australian dollar, please.
If you’re a player who loves to spin to win on your phone, then Hot Potato slot is worth looking at. The massive grid works brilliantly with a phone in portrait mode but landscape mode is also doable.
The symbols on Hot Potato slot include the dodgy cook with the gold tooth and earrings, hamburgers, fries, sodas, glazed donuts, and cucumbers.
Features
EXPLODING WILDS:
The next symbol we need to discuss is Exploding Wilds. These are potatoes that turn red and you’ll know they’re about to pop off when their eyes start bulging. Makes me think a number 2 has been chambered but luckily, that’s not the case.
Exploding Wilds can appear randomly during a regular spin or Avalanche and these will transform all symbols around the potato into multipliers.
Usually, the transformed area is 3x3 but it depends where the Exploding Wilds land – if it’s in a corner, then 4 symbols become multipliers, or if it's at the bottom of the grid, it will be a 2x3 grid.
MULTIPLIER GRID:
When you see a group of multipliers, their initial value will be 2x. However, if a new Exploding Wild lands on top of these multipliers and detonates, the multiplier value will double – up to a max of 128x.
FREE SPINS:
This round takes place in a fiery kitchen, and you’ll be given 10 spins to make your fortune. You’ll trigger the action by landing a minimum of 3 Scatters anywhere on the reels.
Multiplier Grids that were activated in the base game will reset when the Free Spins round starts. Multiplier Grids are now sticky for the duration of the round.
BUY BONUS:
Pay 100x for 10 spins without having to go through the motions.
Performance
Hot Potato slot sizzled through hundreds of spins without errors or glitches.
Maximum Win
You’ll only need to bet €20 a pop to be in line for the €200,000 max win; all it will take is landing the 10,000x multiplier the game offers. The minimum bet is €0.10.
Conclusion
It’s multiplier mania here with Hot Potato slot! You can rack up some crazy numbers and intense wins if luck is on your side. Thanks to those magnificent multipliers, I scored €344 from my first Free Spin Buy Bonus of €100.
I love the novelty of the theme, the way the game looks, the fact that you can take it on the go, and the stats are also sound. Yeah, Hot Potato slot is the business.
