Invading Vegas Slot Review

You know that old saying, “Curiosity killed the cat”? It’s applied to me far too often throughout my life. Curiosity always seems to get the better of me, leading to results that have thoroughly backfired more times than I can count.

It started as a kid, but I’ve never learned my lesson. Anyone born in the late 90s or the early 2000s will know what it was like to have far too much access to the internet at way too young an age. Isis beheadings, anyone?

But no matter how disturbing the online content, nothing will beat the sheer terror I felt upon encountering a late-night TV screening of Mars Attacks (the very same movie today’s slot is based on) at just six years old.

If you’re unfamiliar with the film, Invading Vegas slot from Play'n Go is about to have you all too well acquainted. But in the meantime, all you need to know is the following:

It’s a Tim Burton Sci-Fi (so massively weird)
Sarah Jessica Parker plays a news anchor who gets transformed into a half-woman/half-chihuahua hybrid
Danny Devito does his best to reason with floating-headed space aliens in the parking lot of the Luxor hotel in Las Vegas

It’s a weird one. Let’s dive in.

Gameplay

I don’t know about you, but any departure from the usual Las Vegas slot format is hugely exciting for me. Don’t get me wrong, I dream of a trip to Vegas as much as the next player, but the theme can get a little tired after a while.

And yet, Play’n GO has managed to crack out an extremely original (and downright weird) attempt at the classic Vegas game. Invading Vegas slot will be right up your alley if you're into sci-fi.

There are 5 reels and 20 paylines, set against a glittering Las Vegas landscape, but something’s a little off… perhaps the inclusion of UFOs flying around? That’ll do the trick.

There are 5 high-paying symbols, 4 low-paying ones, and 2 special symbols – a Scatter (represented by an animated UFO) and a Wild (a Mars Attacks-esque alien with its noggin suspended in some nasty-looking liquid).

So that’s 11 symbols total, all of which will contribute to payouts.

Taking a quick look at the stats, we can see that we’ve got a 96.20% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
and medium volatility rate. The multiplier comes in at 1,000x your bet, which is okay, but I would have expected more from this game.

Bet limits range from €0.01 to €100, and the maximum win is a generous €340,000 – nice! It’s a fiat and Bitcoin only game, and unfortunately players using Japanese yen will have to sit it out too.

Features

Invading Vegas slot has three main features: Free Spins, Re-spins, and Walking Wilds. They’re triggered by a couple of different factors, which we’ll get into below.

FREE SPINS

Landing three or more UFO Scatter symbols will trigger Free Spins with flipped reels for a more significant win potential. During the Free Spins round, the Walking Wild will move to the left until it reaches the first reel.

You can win up to 120 Free Spins during this round, but it can’t be re-triggered.

LOCK ON RE-SPIN

A re-spin is triggered on the middle reel if the first and second reels show a full stack of the same symbol (including the Wild). However, the re-spin will only be activated if you don’t win, and the feature can’t be re-triggered.

WALKING WILD

Stacks of the Wild symbol can land on the middle reel after the re-spin is activated. The stacked Wild becomes a Walking Wild, moving right by one reel for each re-spin. An extra re-spin occurs once the Walking Wild has settled into its final resting place (RIP) – the last reel.

Performance

I tested Invading Vegas slot on my iPhone 13 and MacBook Pro, and it worked smoothly on both. However, it does tend to time out pretty quickly, so you’ll want to be mindful of taking too many breaks while playing (but given how this game hooks you, I doubt that’ll be much of a problem).

It’s also good to go on any browser you’d like, including Chrome and Safari… and even Internet Explorer if you’re so inclined.

Maximum Win

The max win is massive, coming in at €340,000. Set your bets to €100, or anything from €0.01, and get spinning.

Conclusion

Although it’s not Play’n GO’s most exciting game, I have to hand it to Invading Vegas slot for being innovative. I’ve never seen a Mars Attacks theme before, and it’s nice to see a different take on such a classic theme.

Downsides? The features are pretty standard, although I liked that the Walking Wild can be triggered during both the Free Spins and Re-spins rounds.

Overall, Invading Vegas slot is definitely worth throwing a few spins at – even if it’s to get a good look at those sinfully ugly aliens.
