There's no guessing here where the inspiration for J. Monsters came from, as it is clearly based on the Pixar Movie Monsters, Inc. That is if they were jellies. These monsters are more delicious than they are frightening in this quirky slot. If I were a monster jelly, I would be a big blob of deliciousness, with a wine flavour.
Gameplay
J. Monsters is a 5x3 reel, 10 payline video slot powered by Belatra Games software. Symbols include stacked Royal Card Suits (J-K) and 4 Jelly Monster Character Symbols. Special Symbols include the expanding Octopus Jelly Monster Wild and the exploding One-eyed Green Jelly Monster that fills an entire reel with matching symbols. As far as controls go, they are all neatly located at the bottom of the reels. From left to right is the Menu icon that expands to the Bet, Sound, Language, Auto Start and Risk Game Settings, Home, Full-screen, and Paytable. Next is the Credits window, adjustable Bet window, Win window, Auto Start button, and Spin button.
Features
The features in J. Monsters include the expanding Octopus Jelly Monster Wild, the exploding One-eyed Green Jelly Monster that fills an entire reel with matching symbols, the Multiplier Reel, and Gamble/Risk Feature.
The expanding Octopus Jelly Monster Wild substitutes for all symbols to form potential winning combinations and expands to fill the entire reel when in a winning combination. A respin will follow with the Octopus Jelly Monster Wild fully expanded.
During spins, you will notice that the reels may be illuminated in green. When this occurs, either the Octopus Jelly Monster Wild or the exploding One-eyed Jelly Monster may land. If the latter lands, it explodes to fill the reel with random matching symbols.
The 5th reel acts as a Multiplier Reel where Multipliers of 2x-7x, 10x and 25x can land. If on a winning payline, winning combinations on that line will be multiplied.
After each win, you have the opportunity of selecting the Risk button that pops up to play the Gamble/Risk Feature. You can choose your Risk/Gamble game in the Game Settings to be either a Red or Black game or Card Dealer Game. If the flashing card lands on the colour you selected in the Red or Black game, you will double your win. If not, you will lose everything. In the Card Dealer game, if the card that is revealed is higher than the dealer's card, you win double, if not, you will lose.
