Jack Potter Slot Review

The hero of today’s game – Jack Potter slot by Onlyplay – is a jester, So in the spirit of fools everywhere, I’m gonna tell you a tale of a prank I was once told.

This story comes from one of my editors. He and his babe were holed up in some hotel. Bob – as he shall now be known – had a short attention span and was always looking for ways to entertain himself.

So he thought, “Hmmmm. I wonder how far I can push the hotel staff before they kick us out.” Of course, there’s only one way to find out. It’s just good science, after all.

So Bob calls down to reception and asks for a few key ingredients to be brought up to his room. When the doorbell rings, he answers it – clad only in his Y-fronts. As he opens the door, this cloud of blue and purple smoke wafts out, courtesy of the joint he was smoking.

The poor hotel person looks at him with a deadpan expression and hands over the bottle of whiskey, the raw, whole chicken, and the condoms Bob ordered and hastily beat a retreat. The only thing that could’ve made the prank better is if it happened in the US, on Thanksgiving, with a turkey.

Do feel free to use this for the next time you’re ensconced in a fancy hotel. Bob didn’t get kicked out, and hopefully, neither will you. But if things go wrong, don’t call me for bail money – call Bob.

Gameplay

Our crazed Joker comes to us on a 3x3 reel grid. Unhappily for me, it’s yet another fruit slot, but at least the graphics are really well made – so much so that they seem poised to leap off the screen.

As for the background, there’s some big old castle on the left, which makes sense, as jesters were part of the household of nobles or the monarchy. On the right is some kinda vehicle belching smoke as it heads off into the atmosphere. OK, that one I don’t get.

To the left of the grid, you’ll also find the various Jackpots ranging from Mini (5x) to Minor (20x), Major (100x), Mega (1,000x), and Grand (10,000x).

I do like how the game’s character ties in with this feature and how the triple 7’s – which incidentally are the Wild symbols – have been brought in as face tattoos for Jack. It shows that Onlyplay has really thought the concept through and isn’t afraid of going left-field.

Jack is our Scatter and 3 of him anywhere on the reels will get you 20 Free Spins. When you land Jack, you’ll also see a Jack Potter coin being added to the treasure chest on top of the grid. The more coins you’ve squirreled away, the better your chance of activating the Jackpot game.

You’ll be able to read more on the Jackpots in the Features section but I wanna take a moment to appreciate how everything ties in nicely with this game. It boasts the type of attention to detail and planning that I love, and it weaves a rich tapestry in the end.

Well done, Onlyplay!

When it comes to the spec sheet, we’re looking at an RTP of 95.42%, a 10,000x multiplier, a high volatility, and a massive max win that tips the scales at €300,000. For conservative players, you’ll be able to place bets at €0.50 but if you’re feeling squirrely, you can go all the way to €30.

Features

Now back to our Jackpot. This can be triggered randomly at any point during gameplay – how exciting is that? You’ll just never know until it happens and that’s how you keep players engaged.

When the Jackpot kicks off, a new grid is presented with 15 mystery blocks and the 5 Jackpots we spoke about earlier. Each Jackpot is represented by a gemstone with a unique color.

Now pick a mystery box. If you’ve managed to choose 3 identical gems, you’ll then be awarded the corresponding Jackpot.

Performance

The platform was built on HTML5 with support for Chrome, Opera, and for us Apple fanboys, Safari. As a result, it works great no matter how you choose to engage with it.

In fact, the way the game look and plays on mobile is – how shall I put this? – amazeballs!

Max Win

Ain’t no kidding with this one – it’s a top prize of €300,000 that’s up for grabs.

Conclusion

This is a fruit game I’d happily play. There, I said it. Publish and be damned, I don’t care. Jack Potter slot is a well-conceived game that looks good and has the potential to make you lots of moolah.

Now, in the interest of fairness, I do need to point out that the RTP is on the low side. If you’re a casual player, that aspect, plus the high volatility, might not be what you’re looking for so do bear this in mind.

The game also doesn’t have anything in the way of features. Normally, I would have had something sardonic to say, but I’m not going to. The game feels like it’s focused on exactly what it was intended to deliver: Jackpots. And therein lies the purity.

Onlyplay seems to have specifically crafted this game and hasn’t deviated or felt the need to shoehorn in other elements as an afterthought or to appease different audiences. It’s precision from concept to delivery and it gets a thumbs up from me.
