Katana Klash: Hold ‘n’ Link Slot Review
The instant I saw this title from Netgame, Katana Klash: Hold ‘n’ Link slot, I thought of the classic Mortal Kombat 🕹️character and possibly the boss lady of the series, Kitana!
Now games that have lasted as long as Mortal Kombat go through evolutions, obviously, if they want to stay relevant and exciting to fans.
And Kitana has been a favorite of mine since she was added to the game in MKII😍. And they have done a lot to flesh her out in the story mode of the game.
Plus, she is a badass with the metal fans🪭 🪭she uses in combat. The lady in this game also has a fan and hides her face. (So there is more of a connection here than just in name.)
But if I am completely honest, my horny nerd gamer brain loves her for the outfits.
Her best look, to me, was in Mortal Kombat 9. And basically for the reason you would expect. Back in 2011, that cheeky booty kept me coming back for more🤤.
Enough about teenaged me less than savory ideation about game characters. Here’s a game that could be just as arousing, if you know what I mean.
Gameplay
The first thing to know about Katana Klash: Hold ‘n’ Link slot is that this game has an astonishingly high $330,000 maximum win.
That is really rare among low- to medium-volatility slots. The average RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.
RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate. is 96.24%.
How you get to that main prize is by placing the biggest bet of $60 and hitting the game’s top 5,500x multiplier on one spin.
But you can also bet as little as $0.20 if you’re not looking for such a high-stakes game.
There are also no limits on the currency you can play with, so all are welcome to test their luck.
If the title of this game didn’t give it away, this is a Japanese-inspired slot, and you play on a 5x3 grid set in a temple archway.
There are 100 paylines in the base game and Free Spins round to land 3 or more matching symbols from left to right to be awarded a win.
The high-paying symbols are a lady hiding her face with a fan, a tiger, 3 throwing stars, and 2 daggers.
The Wild is a ninja that can substitute for all paying symbols to help create a win but doesn’t stand in for the Bonus or Cash Sphere symbols. Wilds only appear on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 in the base game.
Wild symbols can also land fully or partially stacked and take over the whole reel.
The Bonus symbol is a ninja in front of the sun, and you need 3 or more to hit at once to trigger 8 Free Spins.
The Cash Sphere is a glowing blue orb that carries a random prize value of 2x to 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 50x, or 100x your bet.
If 6 or more Cash Sphere symbols hit, you’ll trigger the Hold ‘n’ Link Bonus!
This is a very bright, or, I would say, gaudy, slot. While it doesn’t do anything for me, it is very clear and visible on smaller phone screens. And with my failing eyesight, for once, being ugly is a positive.
Features
FREE SPINS
There is a 3rd special symbol called the Mystery symbol, which appears on all the reels during Free Spins. When the reels stop spinning, they reveal the same symbol for that spin.
Symbols can be any paying symbol, with the exception of the Scatter.
If 3 or more Scatters hit at once, you’re awarded 3 additional Free Spins.
HOLD ‘N’ LINK
This is your standard 3 Re-spin Bonus Game where only Cash Sphere symbols are present on the reels.
The triggering symbols are carried over, and all the remaining positions spin independently. Any new Cash Spheres that land reset the Re-spins to 3.
The Bonus Game continues until you run out of Re-spins or manage to fill every position with Cash Sphere symbols of any type.
Cash Spheres also contain the Mini, Minor, and Major Jackpots, which award 10x, 50x, or 500x your bet. These Jackpot Cash Sphere symbols can also award up to 3x their value.
Any symbol with Mini on it twice will award double the Mini prize (20x), and any Cash Sphere with Mini, three times on it will award triple the Mini prize (30x).
The same goes for the Minor and Major Jackpots.
There is also a Grand Jackpot that can award 4,000x your bet if you manage to fill all 15 positions on the grid before you run out of Re-spins.
Performance
Katana Klash: Hold ‘n’ Link slot was also developed to be played on a PC, phone, or tablet. And it played perfectly on my Windows laptop and Android phone.
Maximum Win
As I mentioned earlier, these are the kinds of numbers every player wants to see from a slot. You could win a massive $330,000 on one spin that will cost you $60 and line up the highest multiplier of 5,500x.
Alternatively, you can bet $0.20 and just have a good time.
Conclusion
Katana Klash: Hold ‘n’ Link slot has everything I want in a slot. The only drawback is that there is no Buy Bonus or Ante BetAn Ante Bet is an option that costs a percentage of your bet but increases your chances of landing triggering symbols that initiate a feature. feature to skip to the real money-making rounds.
Being a low- to medium-volatility slot, you mostly get small wins and occasionally sizable payouts, but you need to pay close attention to your funds and strategize accordingly.
There are instances where there are a lot of dead spins before you get a payout. Which I hate.
That being said, there are very few slots out there that award double or triple their static jackpot prizes! All you need to do is land the corresponding Jackpot prize in the Bonus Game to win it.
The Grand Jackpot is 4,000x your bet if you can fill the grid with symbols before the end of the Bonus Game.
There are also Free Spins, which you’re awarded 8 of when 3 or more Scatter symbols land in the base game. You can also win 3 additional Free Spins by landing the same number of Scatters during the feature.
The Jackpots are crazy, and the maximum win literally made my eyes widen when I started doing this write-up.
I really want to recommend this slot, but the volatility will probably put a lot of high-roller gamers off.
If you’re not going to bet $60 a pop and just want a fun slot that may payout if you’re lucky and can stick with it long enough, then this is an option for you.
