King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods Slot Review

Windows PCs worldwide went all Blue Screen of Death today. We Apple 🍎 Fanboys rejoiced and laughed as CrowdStrike (apparently) reduced that software we can’t abide to a gimp-like state.

Which brings me to the topic of gimps. For many people, the first time they heard the term – other than when used it was derogatorily to speak about someone’s mental or physical defects – was after watching Pulp Fiction. 🍿🎬

Yup, I remember that scene vividly. Ving Rhames chases Bruce Willis into a shop but gets the crap beaten out of him 🥊. And then Bruce gets his own ass knocked out by the redneck shop owner.

When Willis and Rhames wake up, they’ve got ball gags in their mouths. Later, the shop owner is joined by his cousin – naturally – and a leather-clad servant, the Gimp. I think it’s best not to ask where Quentin Tarantino got his inspiration from. 🙉

So, how did we get on this topic? I was thinking about masks – as the title of today’s game is King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods slot from Play'n Go – and it all went t**s up from there.

Gameplay

Good old Ancient Egypt; what would game studios do without your inspiration? Sobek and Anubis flank the reels and also appear as symbols along with Horus, the Ankh, and a flower or leaf of some sort.

Wilds replace all symbols that aren’t Scatters and 5 of them on the grid pays 1,000x your bet.

You’ll need to play with fiat money (no Japanese yen) and Bitcoin, as all other forms of moolah are a no-go. The game has 20 paylines, a high volatility rate, and a 96.29% RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
. Sadly, the max multiplier is only 1,000x and the potential payout also sucks, at $100,000.

Features

WILD FEATURES:

You can randomly trigger one of the below Wild features during the base game, which will last for 3 re-spins.

  • Sticky Wilds: These symbols stay on the reels until the feature ends
  • Multiplier Wilds: All wins – for the duration of the feature – will be multiplied by 2x
  • Walking Wilds: These move 1 reel position to the right per re-spin and then eventually fall off the grid

FREE SPINS:

Hitting 3 or more Scatters gets you 10 Free Spins. If you triggered the round with 4 Scatters, you’ll be paid 20x your bet, and if it was 5 triggering Scatters, these will pay 100x.

You still have access to the Wild Features, but you can choose the one you want this time.

Performance

Be warned: this game times out super-fast, so don’t stray from the screen, or you’ll need to reboot. Other than that, I had no issues.

Maximum Win

These stats are pretty bad: not only will you have to pay $100 per spin to be in the running for the top payout, but that amount is a dismal (considering the volatility rate) $100,000. And the 1,000x max multiplier is also anemic.

Conclusion

I dunno. Free Spins that are limited to 10 isn’t exactly impressive, but at least the Scatters pay if 4 or 5 of them trigger the round. Not that this will happen often, I’m sure.

And choosing your Wild Feature during Free Spins is better than having it chosen for you, as in the base game. But it’s a pity that the multiplier is limited to 2x irrespective.

Yeah, it’s just not all that exciting or special.

Tomb of Gold slot from Play’n GO offers Free Spins and Re-spins, but can pay out up to $245,000 with a 7,000x multiplier. And you’ll only need to bet $35 a pop. This is a way better option, if you’re into simple Egyptian-themed games.

Volatility RateSlot games can have low, medium, high, or extremely high volatility rates (or a combination thereof).

The less volatile the game, the more often it should pay out, but the lower the amount, the less the payout, as this is in keeping with the risk you’re taking. Volatility rate should be considered in conjunction with a game’s RTP.
