Leprechaun’s Vault Slot Review

Despite writing numerous reviews on leprechaun-themed slots, I’ve actually never done much research into the origins of the creatures who seem to occupy a lot of my waking moments.

So bear with me for a moment, as I become a Wikipedia fundi.

Basically, legends of tiny water-dwellers started circulating among the Celts in the 8th century.

Their name, leprechaun, seems to come from the word “luchorpán,” which means small body – pretty on the nose considering that our bearded ginger friends are said to be around 2 or 3 feet tall.

And while they were originally just there to terrify the Celts, leprechauns have now entered the cultural lexicon – becoming friendly little guys, who happen to squirrel away enough gold to rival a medieval dragon.

Now, let’s get into Leprechaun’s Vault slot from Play'n Go.

Gameplay

I’m not the biggest fan of leprechauns at the best of times, and I have to say that this iteration from Play’n Go is particularly sinister. There’s something about his pointy beard and red face that reminds me of cartoon devils – yeah, I’m standing by that.

It looks solid on a mobile phone though. The reels almost seem to be made for portrait mode, allowing you to get a better look at the symbols which seem a little small for a desktop in comparison.

The sound effects are a little grating, so I hit that mute button right out the gate. That’s nothing new though, I’m usually one to play my slots in silence in any case.

Leprechaun’s Vault slot lets us down with the RTPRTP stands for “Return to Player.” The RTP describes the total bet amount that a game returns to players over millions of spins, and that figure is represented by a percentage. Table games, such as Roulette, typically have higher RTPs than many slots.

RTP needs to be considered in conjunction with a game’s volatility rate.
, which only comes in at 95.51%. However, it has a high volatility rate (bigger wins, less often), and a really generous maximum win of €225,000.

Betting starts at €0.20 and goes up to €25, but you can only use fiat to play this game.

Features

MULTIPLIER WILDS

The Multiplier Wild, represented by a coin bag, will substitute for all symbols except the key Scatter. Wilds can only land on reels 2, 3, and 4, and each one will reveal a 2x, 3x, or 4x multiplier.

TREASURE FREE SPINS

Landing 3 or more Scatters on reels 1, 3, and 5 will trigger the Free Spins round. Before the Treasure Free Spins start the vault is presented, and the number of spins you get is based on the vault combination.

You can win up to 24 Free Spins in one round.

During Free Spins, the Multiplier Wilds are sticky. This means that they’ll land on the reels and stay in place until the feature ends.

Performance

Leprechaun’s Vault slot works great on a mobile and a desktop device, so which one you choose to play on is really up to you. It’s also solid on any browser, though my go to is generally Google Chrome.

Maximum Win

If you want to score that €225,000 max win, you’ll need to set the bet to €25 and land the 9,000x top multiplier. Simple as that – good luck!

Conclusion

I think we can all agree that Irish-themed slots are overplayed. If they’re not bringing anything new to the table, what’s the point of them?

And yet, sinister leprechaun aside, I really enjoyed Leprechaun’s Vault slot. The animations and graphics are just cheery enough to get me past the bearded devil mascot, and the payouts are more than decent.

Admittedly the features aren’t all that complex, but sometimes simplicity is good too. Try it for yourself and see.
